Ensemble Discantus / Lesne - Music for a King - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Wonderfools is the future sound of the Scandinavian Rock Scene. With their unique mix of melody and punch, they have delivered treat after treat to the underground. They've toured Europe for a decade, their live shows are legendary. With the fourth and best studio album so far, InchToo Late to Die YoungInch, Wonderfools has taken their music to another level. With producer Boerge Finstad the band went places they've never been before, resulting in a very complex album containing elements from everything from Punk to Classic Hard Rock. Their love for music is ever present, and from the simple Punk songs, to the stadium Rock, they always keep that element of playfulness that has been a trademark in their music since their first 7Inch from 1996, InchGet RealInch. The best band in the world! (A. Schau, Radio Nova)

Ensemble Dumont - Messe Du Roi [COMPACT DISCS] date 06/05/2001

Ensemble Molière presents a luxuriant and varied selection of French Baroque music to accompany Louis XIV, the Sun King, in his daily life. What better way to wake up than to be serenaded by the Overture from Charpentier's Les Arts Florissants? The King's day continues with extracts from Lully's Phaëton as the sun rises, a little Couperin as the royal household's day unfolds, a Symphonie pour les soupers du Roy by Delalande to accompany supper, dance music from the Ballet Royal de la Nuit and a suite to accompany the setting sun from Marais' Trios pour le coucher du Roy. Louis XIV chose to portray himself as the Sun, the manifestation of the god Apollo on earth and the ultimate power which gives life to all things. This album reimagines a day in the life of one of the most magnificent royals of the Baroque era.
