EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert - 4K Blu-Ray [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray]

Baz Luhrmann's expectedly electric biopic of the King of Rock 'n' Roll offers an arresting central performance by Austin Butler, as the peaks and valleys of Elvis Presley's performing career are recounted through the deathbed reflections of ex-manager Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks), the Southern Svengali who cannily trained the Tupelo youngster's charismatic gifts on the American public-and just as ruthlessly exploited them. Olivia DeJonge, Richard Roxburgh, Helen Thomson also star. 159 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

In seeking out material for his 2022 biopic InchElvis,Inch director Baz Luhrmann obtained access to unseen, long-shelved hours of outtakes from InchElvis That's the Way It IsInch and InchElvis on Tour.Inch Remastered and synched to existing sound, and combined with other archival footage and rediscovered interview audio of Elvis discussing his life and career, this trove of lost media was combined by Luhrmann into a documentary/concert experience fit for a King-or any of the King's fans. 90 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Screen legend Clint Eastwood (Coogan's Bluff, Dirty Harry) and director Don Siegel (Two Mules for Sister Sara, The Beguiled) re-team for their fifth and final film in this fascinating account of the only three men ever to escape from the infamous maximum-security prison at Alcatraz. In 29 years, the seemingly impenetrable federal penitentiary, which housed Al Capone and Birdman Robert Stroud, was only broken once by three men never heard of again. Eastwood portrays Frank Morris, the cunning bank robber who masterminded the elaborately detailed and, as far as anyone knows, ultimately successful, escape. Patrick McGoohan (Ice Station Zebra, TV's The Prisoner) is a superb counterpoint as the suspicious warden. Filmed on location in Alcatraz, this gritty and realistic reenactment of a true story has all the power one expects of an Eastwood/Siegel movie. The stellar cast includes Fred Ward (Remo Williams), Roberts Blossom (Deranged), Jack Thibeau (Sudden Impact), Paul Benjamin (Across 110th Street) and Larry Hankin (Running Scared). Screenplay by Richard Tuggle (Tightrope), based on a book by J. Campbell Bruce.
