The Epson WorkForce ES-400 II has been a huge time saver for my office. Setup was quick, scans are fast and clear, and the duplex feature makes handling large stacks of paperwork effortless. It’s compact, reliable, and easy to use. Definitely worth the price if you scan documents regularly

This replaced a 15 year-old HP scanner. Pages/minute is over 30 sheets per minute & is same in Duplex or Simplex. Its ability to detect and skip blanks pages is so good that I almost always scan in Duplex. It is very good at detecting multiple sheet feeds. I use a flat-bed scanner so I can't address photo scan quality. I am very happy with the performance of this device as well as its price.

Purchased this scanner hoping it would be like the one I have at work. It turned out to be so much better! Really easy to set up and connect to my laptop. I was up and ready to scan in less than 20 minutes. Once set up, you click the scan button on the scanner and the program pops up showing you your image right away. It automatically makes it a colored PDF file so there was no wait time for the document to convert. 30 + pages scanned at one time and was able to save it with no trouble at all. Literally is so much better than the one I work with everyday at my office. I definitely recommend this product. So glad this purchase didn’t disappoint me.

I use this for scanning sports cards for ebay. I just removed one of the rollers and it works well for the price until I buck up and just buy a Fujitsu. Occasionally, pulls multiple cards through and jams but it's easy to pop the cover and start over. It does scan a line on most chrome cards (doesn't damage cards, just creates this annoying phantom line on my scans) but I only use this for cheap cards so whatever. I use an Epson bed scanner for my higher value items anyway.

I have only ever used Fujitsu scanners because of their reputation - but this scanner had a price point that I couldn't ignore... And I will admit I am completely impressed. One month with this scanner has completely reversed my opinion that Fujitsu the only real option. While there hasn't been years of use yet to prove the test of time, month number one has been without a single issue over a couple thousand scans.

I searched forever for a piece of equipment that could scan more than 1 page at a time, as well as allow me to scan receipts. This one is very quick and clear with the scans. Highly recommended!

I love this scanner as it is so versatile. I have an Epson XP-430 printer at home with a flatbed scanner that can only scan one-sided documents at a time. Therefore, I can say that this Epson Workforce ES-400 II Duplex scanner arrived at the right time for me and my business. Setup was straightforward, although to start configuring you need the supplied USB cable. Although I did all the configuration I have not tried your connection only by WIFI. Do all the steps as shown in the instructions, download the EPSON SMARTSCAN software on my Window 7 and it worked great. It is a very practical and easy to understand software to use the scanner properly. It is so easy to scan by selecting one or both sides of the document, it gives several options to modify the document as best is for us (vertical orientation, horizontal orientation, cut, etc). I was very surprised by the available formats that it has to save the scanned document, which gives many possibilities to use them in different programs without having to go to a document converter. Also to save on different platforms such as google, Dropbox, Word, Excel, etc. In general it is very useful for my small business, now at this time to send to my child's teacher her homework tasks. Its versatility makes me fall in love with its size with which I save a lot of space. I will definitely recommend this scanner to my family, friends, my friends mom and small business owners. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

I never knew I had a use for a high-speed desktop document scanner until I got this Epson scanner. It couldn't have come a better time as I was looking to organize my household paperwork and files within my filing cabinet; especially with tax season around the corner. I was able to quickly load docs upon docs and get them into my MacBook. The setup was really easy and the quality of the scans are high quality. I used the Epson software to edit the image and make adjustments as needed. You also have the option to upload docs directly into Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive, etc. which makes it a super powerful device. There are only 2 cons that I can think of with this device. First one being I wish this one was wireless. I do know the ES-500 W II offers wireless scanning so this is more just a wish than anything. Second, the device had issue when I was trying to scan in my older "W2" tax docs. As these W2's are often 2 pieces of paper on top of each other, the scanner got hung up and was unable to scan. This is where a flatbed scanner would be ideal. I had to go to my old machine to scan those in. All in all, I would definitely recommend this scanner for anyone looking for a highly efficient, very quick machine that can quickly get your documents into the cloud. I didn't think that having just a scanner will make a difference in my life, because I was used to scan from my all in one printer flatbed that I have used for years. This scanner not only is fast, it is compact and it is easy to install and use! Upon receiving it I opened the box and inside was the scanner, the ac cable and an usb cable. It came with an easy to understand quick guide to help with the installation process. Once I followed the installation instructions I downloaded the software and it took less than 5 minutes to install. I tried the scanner immediately and it was as easy as putting the paper in the tray and press a button to scan! I am no expert in computers, but I felt confident using it for the first time. Once it scanned the program showed a preview of my doubled sided scanned paper and gave me different options like save, email, send to google or dropbox, print, word, excel, etc. This scanner also has a wi-fi feature and scan from mobile devices. The scanned document was clear and legible and it scanned in about 3 seconds. I am a Mom and have a full time job. This scanner will make my life much easier to organize my receipts and household papers without me having to open a lid of my old scanner and flip my paper to scan the other side. I also like that I can put it anywhere because is way smaller than my all in one printer. I will definitely recommend this Epson ES-400 II scanner to my friends and family members! “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

I am loving my WorkForce ES-400 II Deplux Desktop Document Scanner. It arrived quickly and was boxed up very nicely. I unboxed it and it's literally the perfect size for someone working from home on a laptop. You can put it anywhere. It fits anywhere and really don't take up any space! It was simple to set up, setup didn't take long at all. The instructions were simple and easy to understand. Once I set it up, it was ready to go. It's so easy to just scan some documents and it scans them pretty quickly, I might add. I scanned 10 or more documents in less them a minute. It was so simple and even if something got stuck, it's so easy to just open it up and take it out. Nothing hard about using this at all. It's very nice and convenient for me since I've been working from home. It's really making things a lot easier. I can even use my phone! I don't know how I managed without it for so long, so I'm very happy with it. The duplex capacity is another thing that I love about my WorkForce Scanner. I can't say enough great things about it. Easy to setup, easy to use, fast, convenient and compact! I have bragged about this product to my friends and family and have recommended it to several of them and told them how amazing it is to have with working from home! Epson - WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner I have to say this scanner performs above my expectations. I have never owned a standalone document scanner. I do have a sheet fed scanner on my multi-purpose printer but the Epson scanner is much faster with improved scans. The scanner does dual side scanning as well. This Epson scanner in this price range comes in a wireless model and one that connects with a USB cable supplied. When everything is installed you press a button and the scan takes place. I have not had an opportunity to do multiple -page scanning and I have only used it several times. The installation was clear, helpful and to the point. The instructions included not to connect the scanner to the computer until told to do so. That was important. The first step is install the drivers and some software, plug the scanner at the appropriate time and then complete the installation. Worked like a charm. I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone looking to purchase a standalone desktop scanner, This size is right, the speed is great, and the scans are very good. The scanner is not terribly expensive and the scanner could operate a large volume of scans.

This device was very simple to set up. The instructions were quick and to the point. I was expecting something larger in size but was pleasantly surprised at how light and compact it was. I am currently living (and working) in a hotel while my home is under renovation so I was able to carry this in with ease. The machine output is quick and quiet, allowing me to work on a project while everyone sleeps. My favorite feature was the duplex capability, scanning both sides of the page and then it pops up on the screen, allowing you to then choose where you want to save it ( word, excel, or as a document on your PC. The ability to scan images into your iPhone is another really handy feature that I didn’t realize was so vital in trying to stay organized and keep up with paperwork, receipts, or anything else that is important. This device is ideal for an office setting or small business. Also, very ideal for personal use. The Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner is my new favorite desktop accessory. An accessory, that takes up very little space (6.9 inches in height, 6.6 inches in width when closed) on my desk, but completes a lot of productivity in my daily home office tasks. After carefully unboxing my new scanner, I thoroughly read the enclosed illustrated start up leaflet. I immediately noted that it stated, "DO NOT PLUG IN USB CORD UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO". (Except it was not in bold lettering... I would make a suggestion to the company to do so, or highlight that important instruction). It was very easy to set up this wired scanner, using the supplied USB-A to USB-B cable. I then downloaded the software from Epson's website, via the internet. It can handle projects that I create for teaching preschoolers, or even scanning records and receipts into my small business files. It's a fifty-sheet auto document feeder is lightning fast, and is able to scan up to 35 ppm, from business card sized up to 240 inches, while automatically detecting and capturing both sides of each sheet in one pass. It's built "double decker" style, where as, the pages to be scanned, are loaded at the top, then pass through the scanner, and come to rest, in the paper tray below. It resembles a printer in that manner, which is a huge improvement over having to lay pages or photos down, one at a time, on a flatbed or all-in-one style scanner. I found it exciting that this can be paired with an Epson flatbed scanner for scanning my photos or thicker materials, with the optional flatbed dock The included Epson ScanSmart Software2 is intuitive feature allows me to choose, preview, adjust, enhance, email and upload color scans, and make and corrections or adjustments desired before saving it to a searchable pdf file, or one of several cloud storage accounts. The image correction features such as auto crop, dirt detection, staple protection and paper-skew correction, give me quality scans with less bother. I'm currently working on scanning my grandmother's handwritten recipes into files and these features have really come in handy with this project since the original documents are not in pristine condition. I have already recommended the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner to my friends and family. It's making both my personal life, as well as my small business tasks, much simpler, more organized, creative, and fun. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

This scanner is great. The size is super compact, so I can put it away when I don't need it. This version is the wired version, but I would probably purchase the wifi version, since you wouldn't need the USB cable. The set up was very easy, though it did take some time for my computer to download the software, but once it was done, using the machine was a breeze. I like that when you are ready to scan, you just put the paper in the slot and press the button. You don't have to open a program or anything first. The program pops open when the scan begins. The program is very simple. It automatically detects if there is print on both sides of the paper or just one, so no need to have to make any selections ahead of time, which I like, so there is no chance that I will forget to do it. Once the item is scanned, the image or images pop up in the program and you have the chance to delete one of the pages if needed or to rotate them, or crop the image. Once you do this, it takes you to the screen where you can name the file and select where to save it and what type of file to save it as. You click save and you're done. It's really very quick to use once it's set up. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I’ve been using the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner (Model B11B261201) to scan sports cards for eBay, and it has seriously simplified my workflow. What used to take me all day can now be done in just over an hour for 100+ cards — a huge productivity boost. The scanner handles cards smoothly and consistently, and the duplex scanning (front/back in one pass) saves a ton of time. Setup was straightforward, and the software makes exporting to formats I need for listings really easy. Whether I’m using it for cards, receipts, or documents, it keeps pace without hiccups. What I liked: Speed: Scans both sides automatically and quickly — major time-saver for large batches Reliable feed: Cards go through smoothly without jams or misfeeds Quality scans: Crisp, clear images that look great in eBay listings Easy to use: Simple setup and intuitive software make scanning easy Versatile: Works great for documents and cards alike What to consider: It’s larger than portable scanners, so plan desk space accordingly Best use is with flat media (cards, documents) — not thick book pages Added value with Totaltech: As a Best Buy Totaltech member, the 2-year protection added peace of mind for this purchase. Knowing the coverage is there makes it easier to invest in tools that streamline my work. Bottom line If you’re scanning a lot of cards (or documents) and want to cut your time drastically, the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II is a standout choice. It’s fast, dependable, and makes batch scanning far less of a hassle — especially for eBay sellers and hobbyists with heavy scanning needs. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to save time and get crisp scans without fuss.
