Purchased this scanner hoping it would be like the one I have at work. It turned out to be so much better! Really easy to set up and connect to my laptop. I was up and ready to scan in less than 20 minutes. Once set up, you click the scan button on the scanner and the program pops up showing you your image right away. It automatically makes it a colored PDF file so there was no wait time for the document to convert. 30 + pages scanned at one time and was able to save it with no trouble at all. Literally is so much better than the one I work with everyday at my office. I definitely recommend this product. So glad this purchase didn’t disappoint me.

I have only ever used Fujitsu scanners because of their reputation - but this scanner had a price point that I couldn't ignore... And I will admit I am completely impressed. One month with this scanner has completely reversed my opinion that Fujitsu the only real option. While there hasn't been years of use yet to prove the test of time, month number one has been without a single issue over a couple thousand scans.

This replaced a 15 year-old HP scanner. Pages/minute is over 30 sheets per minute & is same in Duplex or Simplex. Its ability to detect and skip blanks pages is so good that I almost always scan in Duplex. It is very good at detecting multiple sheet feeds. I use a flat-bed scanner so I can't address photo scan quality. I am very happy with the performance of this device as well as its price.

I searched forever for a piece of equipment that could scan more than 1 page at a time, as well as allow me to scan receipts. This one is very quick and clear with the scans. Highly recommended!

The Epson WorkForce ES-400 II has been a huge time saver for my office. Setup was quick, scans are fast and clear, and the duplex feature makes handling large stacks of paperwork effortless. It’s compact, reliable, and easy to use. Definitely worth the price if you scan documents regularly

I use this for scanning sports cards for ebay. I just removed one of the rollers and it works well for the price until I buck up and just buy a Fujitsu. Occasionally, pulls multiple cards through and jams but it's easy to pop the cover and start over. It does scan a line on most chrome cards (doesn't damage cards, just creates this annoying phantom line on my scans) but I only use this for cheap cards so whatever. I use an Epson bed scanner for my higher value items anyway.

I love this scanner as it is so versatile. I have an Epson XP-430 printer at home with a flatbed scanner that can only scan one-sided documents at a time. Therefore, I can say that this Epson Workforce ES-400 II Duplex scanner arrived at the right time for me and my business. Setup was straightforward, although to start configuring you need the supplied USB cable. Although I did all the configuration I have not tried your connection only by WIFI. Do all the steps as shown in the instructions, download the EPSON SMARTSCAN software on my Window 7 and it worked great. It is a very practical and easy to understand software to use the scanner properly. It is so easy to scan by selecting one or both sides of the document, it gives several options to modify the document as best is for us (vertical orientation, horizontal orientation, cut, etc). I was very surprised by the available formats that it has to save the scanned document, which gives many possibilities to use them in different programs without having to go to a document converter. Also to save on different platforms such as google, Dropbox, Word, Excel, etc. In general it is very useful for my small business, now at this time to send to my child's teacher her homework tasks. Its versatility makes me fall in love with its size with which I save a lot of space. I will definitely recommend this scanner to my family, friends, my friends mom and small business owners. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

I never knew I had a use for a high-speed desktop document scanner until I got this Epson scanner. It couldn't have come a better time as I was looking to organize my household paperwork and files within my filing cabinet; especially with tax season around the corner. I was able to quickly load docs upon docs and get them into my MacBook. The setup was really easy and the quality of the scans are high quality. I used the Epson software to edit the image and make adjustments as needed. You also have the option to upload docs directly into Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive, etc. which makes it a super powerful device. There are only 2 cons that I can think of with this device. First one being I wish this one was wireless. I do know the ES-500 W II offers wireless scanning so this is more just a wish than anything. Second, the device had issue when I was trying to scan in my older "W2" tax docs. As these W2's are often 2 pieces of paper on top of each other, the scanner got hung up and was unable to scan. This is where a flatbed scanner would be ideal. I had to go to my old machine to scan those in. All in all, I would definitely recommend this scanner for anyone looking for a highly efficient, very quick machine that can quickly get your documents into the cloud. I didn't think that having just a scanner will make a difference in my life, because I was used to scan from my all in one printer flatbed that I have used for years. This scanner not only is fast, it is compact and it is easy to install and use! Upon receiving it I opened the box and inside was the scanner, the ac cable and an usb cable. It came with an easy to understand quick guide to help with the installation process. Once I followed the installation instructions I downloaded the software and it took less than 5 minutes to install. I tried the scanner immediately and it was as easy as putting the paper in the tray and press a button to scan! I am no expert in computers, but I felt confident using it for the first time. Once it scanned the program showed a preview of my doubled sided scanned paper and gave me different options like save, email, send to google or dropbox, print, word, excel, etc. This scanner also has a wi-fi feature and scan from mobile devices. The scanned document was clear and legible and it scanned in about 3 seconds. I am a Mom and have a full time job. This scanner will make my life much easier to organize my receipts and household papers without me having to open a lid of my old scanner and flip my paper to scan the other side. I also like that I can put it anywhere because is way smaller than my all in one printer. I will definitely recommend this Epson ES-400 II scanner to my friends and family members! “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

This is the most useful scanner I have ever owned. Prior to this scanner, I was using an Epson all-in-one printer that had a flatbed and automatic document feeder (ADF) scanner function that can only scan documents one side at a time. Suffice it to say, the ADF on my all-in-on printer really behaves more like an “automatically doesn’t function” scanner. This awesome little scanner is a breath of fresh air for me. The setup was easy, albeit requiring the use of a USB-A to USB-B cable that they supplied. If you are going to try to set this up with a computer that only has USB-C ports, make sure you have a USB-A to USB-C adapter for ease of use and set up. (I have not yet figured out if this particular model connects via WIFI, I suspect not). I plugged this in as the directions showed and downloaded the Epson SmartScan software onto my Apple Macbook Pro running the most recent update of Big Sur. Normally, and with my other Epson printer included, I do not like proprietary printer software. However, this SmartScan software is just too great. Before you scan your document, you can choose whether you are going to scan a single side document or a double side document. After that selection, this thing just TAKES OFF and scans all of the pages faster than I could have imagined. I actually got startled when I first started the scanning process and the first page just rocketed through this scanner like the Tasmanian devil on crack. The next part of the scanning process on the software allows you to review the orientation, order, and quality of each scan in an easy to view process, allowing you to make adjustments as needed before saving. Then with the saving process, you have the ability to save directly to the computer, print and then save (printing occurring on a connected printer of course) Google Drive, to an email, to Microsoft Word and Excel, and more. I wasn’t sure, but I would have liked to see direct support for Microsoft Onedrive. However, I worked around this by setting up to save to a folder within my Onedrive folder on my Macbook Pro. With further use, something I wanted to note that I think is awesome is that it automatically detects if it is scanning a double-sided document or not! Not preselection required, just load the documents as instructed and press the scan button and it will take over from there! Love that. Another thing I found is that, by loading my driver’s license long way in (vertical) it scans it with ease. I just had to squeeze in the guides and make sure it was aligned properly. I found that it was inconsistent with other cards though, no matter how I aligned them. I would really consider this to be best accomplished at normal sized paper documents and that a flatbed would probably be best for cards etc. if you are seeking consistency. Overall, for a home office, working from home, or small business setting, I can’t imagine a better scanner. Its compact size places no great demands on space and its quality of scans and efficiency in scanning yield results that anyone can appreciate. This definitely has found its place in my set up! With tax season arriving, I am going to be pleased to have this scanner to help me get all my documents prepared and scanned in!

This is for the Epson - WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner This scanner is a step up for me. I’ve had a flatbed scanner for years now and this is a big improvement in several areas. It takes about 1/2 as much desk space as the flatbed. It will scan both sides of documents in color or black-and-white and do it in a hurry – 35 pages/minute. The quality is excellent as well. It can even handle very thin paper or wrinkled paper – you push the “slow” button which reduces the physical stress on the document. One bonus is that it can save a scanned document into a Microsoft Office format (MS Word, Excel or PowerPoint) rather than a PDF. The other is that it will scan business cards (including laminated cards). The only real issue I have is the set-up. There isn’t a lot of detail – just the (now) standard pictographs that sort-of, kind-of show you what needs to be done. UPSIDES: The power cable is reasonably long – I had to coil it up with a zip-tie before plugging it into an outlet strip. DOWNSIDES: (1) The USB cable is fairly short – around 3 feet – I needed 10 feet because the scanner is on the far left of my desk and the computer is under the right side of my desk. (2) I found out – the hard way – that you CANNOT plug the scanner’s USB cable into a USB hub – it must be plugged directly into the computer. (Unless I was doing something wrong – who knows!) (3) It would have been really nice if Epson included a dust cover with their scanners/printers to keep them dust-free but that’s not likely to happen. You’ll have to buy an after-market cover. Recommended. (Note: The stock photo shows the scanner in the operational configuration - it's much smaller when folded for storage.)

I am loving my WorkForce ES-400 II Deplux Desktop Document Scanner. It arrived quickly and was boxed up very nicely. I unboxed it and it's literally the perfect size for someone working from home on a laptop. You can put it anywhere. It fits anywhere and really don't take up any space! It was simple to set up, setup didn't take long at all. The instructions were simple and easy to understand. Once I set it up, it was ready to go. It's so easy to just scan some documents and it scans them pretty quickly, I might add. I scanned 10 or more documents in less them a minute. It was so simple and even if something got stuck, it's so easy to just open it up and take it out. Nothing hard about using this at all. It's very nice and convenient for me since I've been working from home. It's really making things a lot easier. I can even use my phone! I don't know how I managed without it for so long, so I'm very happy with it. The duplex capacity is another thing that I love about my WorkForce Scanner. I can't say enough great things about it. Easy to setup, easy to use, fast, convenient and compact! I have bragged about this product to my friends and family and have recommended it to several of them and told them how amazing it is to have with working from home! This Epson Scanner has made working from home/home schooling so much easier. I am amazed at how much I needed a scanner like this. As the name implies, this Workforce does what it was meant to do at such an efficient rate. After a few weeks using it, it has made work/homework life much easier. Pros: -Easy to set up. Literally. Plug it in, power on, go to the epson website to download the needed software, and it’s ready to go. -Small, compact use. Having it situated next to my desktop, it’s hardly noticeable thanks to the paper tray folding in, along with the paper feeder coming from the top. I’m so happy that it doesn’t leave too much for a footprint on my desk, especially as I’m sharing it with my kids who are doing distance learning. -Fast scanning. Speaking about my kids, both of them require printing out and returning homework/classwork for their teacher to grade. They have many pages to scan and this workforce easily handles it in an efficient and fast manor. I also needed to scan a 26 page document for work and it scanned it in 300 dpi in seconds, which a multi use scanner and printer would take longer to scan. Cons: -Not fully aligned. When scanning it doesn’t fully align, and it is slightly off in some corners. The OCD part of me is highly annoyed, but it gets the work done. Overall, I am thoroughly happy with this Epson Workforce scanner. It’s a must need for any home office.

Epson - WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner I have to say this scanner performs above my expectations. I have never owned a standalone document scanner. I do have a sheet fed scanner on my multi-purpose printer but the Epson scanner is much faster with improved scans. The scanner does dual side scanning as well. This Epson scanner in this price range comes in a wireless model and one that connects with a USB cable supplied. When everything is installed you press a button and the scan takes place. I have not had an opportunity to do multiple -page scanning and I have only used it several times. The installation was clear, helpful and to the point. The instructions included not to connect the scanner to the computer until told to do so. That was important. The first step is install the drivers and some software, plug the scanner at the appropriate time and then complete the installation. Worked like a charm. I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone looking to purchase a standalone desktop scanner, This size is right, the speed is great, and the scans are very good. The scanner is not terribly expensive and the scanner could operate a large volume of scans.

This device was very simple to set up. The instructions were quick and to the point. I was expecting something larger in size but was pleasantly surprised at how light and compact it was. I am currently living (and working) in a hotel while my home is under renovation so I was able to carry this in with ease. The machine output is quick and quiet, allowing me to work on a project while everyone sleeps. My favorite feature was the duplex capability, scanning both sides of the page and then it pops up on the screen, allowing you to then choose where you want to save it ( word, excel, or as a document on your PC. The ability to scan images into your iPhone is another really handy feature that I didn’t realize was so vital in trying to stay organized and keep up with paperwork, receipts, or anything else that is important. This device is ideal for an office setting or small business. Also, very ideal for personal use.
