Vinyl LP. R&B superstar Erykah Badu let's her hair down on this relaxed, romantic album from 2010. InchNew Amerykah Part Two Return of the AnkhInch skips the politics and injustice at the heart of so many of Badu's recordings. This time she brings in rich live instrumentation for an even warmer sound. Who'd have thought she'd go for a Theremin, among other instruments? Yet, this is a playful album full of whimsy in both it's lyrics and music. It isn't as if Erykah has lost her touch so much as she has gotten in touch with her inner muse. Fans agree it is a great album, having sent it all the way up to #4 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's biggest hits are InchWindow SeatInch and InchTurn Me Away (Get Munny)Inch.
Double violet colored vinyl LP pressing. This is a series of celebrated records from Erykah Badu where she explores a post-Civil Rights landscape in which African Americans have been left to sort out how to have a cultural identity as part of a nation that had, up until very recently, been a dedicated adversary. Originally released in 2010, this album features the singles InchWindow Seat,Inch and InchGet MuNNY.Inch
Vinyl LP. Erykah Badu considers this R&B record, InchWorldwide Underground,Inch an EP, but it is longer than most full LPs. More of a jam session than an album of singles, Erykah gives writing and production credit to her supergroup she calls Freakquency. She's joined by stars such as Queen Latifah, Lenny Kravitz, Angie Stone, Donald Byrd and many others. It is an easy album to love, and just kick on and groove. With hits such as InchBack in the Day (Puff)Inch and InchDanger,Inch InchWorldwide UndergroundInch climbed all the way up to #3 on the Billboard 200 in 2003.
