Escuela Grind - Dreams On Algorithms - VINYL LP

CD reissue. You Had It Coming starts with a heavy track written by Jeniffer Batten (guitar virtuoso famous for playing all three of Michael Jacksons world tours) so it comes as no surprise that many of the tracks lean more towards heavy blues-rock. 'You Had It Coming' impresses with it's stripped down sound, disciplined arrangements and playing. The British musician/singer Imogen Heap contributes powerful vocals to the Muddy Water tune Rollin' and Tumblin', and some suggestive non-singing vocals to Dirty Mind, and the opening Earthquake features an odd sampled vocal. Otherwise, the album is all instrumental. The album then rides out on a high, but toned down, note. Another epic album made by the guitar genius.

Themes For Dreams marks another left turn for Chicago-based musician, composer, and producer Will Miller, finding him at his most meditative, patient, and intentional. Across 13 gorgeous and strikingly cohesive tracks, the album eschews drums in favor of immersive melodies that float, dissipate, and linger. It's an album meant for rest, with arrangements so welcomely enveloping they feel like a warm blanket. While it's Miller's sparsest record yet, it still keeps his wildly collaborative ethos, enlisting guests like Marta Sofia Honer, Jeremiah Chiu, Macie Stewart, Matt Gold, William Corduroy, Molly Rife, and others.

The band started in 2017 as four friends jamming in their basement looking to branch out from the typical metalcore sound by incorporating elements of their favorite genres hardcore, hip hop, and rock 'n' roll. Fox Lake has continually leveled up by giving audiences undeniable grooves, punch rhythms, and an anti-establishment swagger. It's all culminated into a sonic, brass-knuckled punch to the face that's landing on anyone in their proximity.
