A: It likely doesn't care about it's Internet feed as long as it has one, but password protect or not, I'd favor connecting to a secure network.
Q: Since there are physical keys, where is the keyhole access?
A: Under the circular plate under the number pad on the front. You need to move it to the side to reveal the keyhole.
