About this product
Protection draws from the energy and passion of Face to Face's early records but is filtered through the band's unique perspective as true InchlifersInch in punk rock. The result is an urgent and powerful 11-song blast that recalls the melody and angst of the band's formative sound, while showcasing their greatly matured song-writing acumen. Thoughtfully penned lyrics bolster the entire album, from band favorites InchDouble CrossedInch and InchSay What You WantInch to the vicious barb Inch14 59Inch and the emotionally moving InchBent But Not Broken.Inch Another factor in the album's outcome was the contribution of producer Bill Stevenson (NOFX, Rise Against, Propagandhi, Anti-Flag). After nearly two decades of Face to Face producing their own albums, the benefit of the collaboration with Stevenson is reflected in the elevated feel of Protection. Despite the fact that Face to Face doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, Protection is an emphatic validation of their 25 years of massive commercial and critical success.

Face to Face - Face To Face [COMPACT DISCS] Reissue date 12/16/2016
Jonny Telephone, originally from Cranberra and now based in Melbourne, is an auteur working in a genre that could be best described as post-apocalyptic R&B. Romeo Must Cry is his first official album, after a series of digital and cassette releases stretching back to the late 2000s. This period culminated in Chapter Music's 2012 self-titled compilation (CH 098 CD), which took the form of a four-song 7Inch accompanied by a 20-track CD career overview. Romeo Must Cry is a new chapter for Jonny Telephone, and his most clearly articulated vision yet. The album presents a darkly sexual near future, both disturbing and alluring. The world could end at any minute, oblivion lurks around every corner, but there are still human connections to be made amidst a gleaming metropolis. Steamy, seductive first single InchThe PrayerInch (featured on Pitchfork, Indie Shuffle, and Flavorwire) is contrasted against the bleak fatalism of InchInferno,Inch the cyberpunk urgency of InchCarry Me Far Away,Inch and the disarming sweetness of InchStrange World.Inch It's an intensely personal vision, with only a handful of outside contributions. InchWaking Up CryingInch features a verse from rising LA rapper Bones, who included an earlier version of the track on his 2013 mixtape Paid Programming. The Ocean Party's Liam Hallowell plays guitar on the epic InchInferno,Inch and Sam McCusker of noiseniks Orbits shreds on InchNeuromancer.Inch InchThe PrayerInch was produced with Forces maverick Alex Akers, and title-track InchRomeo Must CryInch (bookending the album with two distinct versions) was produced with Lachlan Thomas of Danger Beach and TV Colours. From start to finish, the album is a journey from innocence, love, and hope, through to steely-eyed despair. In Jonny's words, InchRomeo Must Cry is a tragic pseudo-religious sci-fi epic that details the rise and fall of a lovesick hero slowly descen
