The band was originally named Faith No Man. The band underwent several lineup changes early in their career, along with some major changes later on. Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition of the second studio album by Metallica, originally released in 1984. The album was recorded in three weeks with producer Flemming Rasmussen at the Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. The artwork, based on a concept by the band, depicts an electric chair in the midst of a thunderstorm. The title was taken from a passage in Stephen King's novel The Stand. Although rooted in the thrash metal genre, the album showcased the band's musical maturity and lyrical sophistication. This was partly because bassist Cliff Burton introduced the basics of music theory to the rest of the band and had more input in the songwriting. Instead of relying strictly on fast tempos as on Kill 'Em All, Metallica broadened it's approach by employing acoustic guitars, extended instrumentals, and more complex harmonies. Album Tracks 1. Fool For A Lifetime. Recorded at Bearsville Studios near Woodstock, New York, it was the first without longtime guitarist Jim Martin, whose departure had an influence on the direction of the album. In the new liner notes, keyboardist Roddy Bottum writes InchAs a result, we wrote and recorded some of our most radical, out there songs, like 'Cuckoo For Caca' and 'Ugly In The Morning,' some of our mellowest like 'Take This Bottle, Caralho Voador' and then some or our most high-drama, like 'Just A Man.'Inch Among the eight bonus tracks are the b-sides InchSpanish EyesInch and InchAbsolute Zero,Inch as well as the band's cover of the Bee Gee's InchI Started A Joke,Inch which was originally released as a b-side in 1995.
