Fedor Amosov - Six Sonatas Op. 12 for Cello or Violin - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Kenny G has had one of the most eclectic and dominant careers the music business has ever seen. He's maintained a high level of creative excellence through decades of unprecedented commercial success by never allowing himself to stay in one place too long. That reputation for musical curiosity stays well intact on his fourteenth studio album Brazilian Nights, set for on January 27th, 2015 via Concord Records 2015 , the 14th album from the jazz/pop saxophonist. According to Kenny, BRAZILIAN NIGHTS was inspired by listening to bossa nova recordings by Cannonball Adderley, Paul Desmond and Stan Getz.

This GENUIN portrait album of Martin Christoph Redel depicts a composer's life, encompassing a wide variety of genres and instrumentations. The composer himself made the selection of works dating from 1982 to 2020. From Bruckner essays to fine piano music, the album looks at Redel's oeuvre that integrates techniques and genres of the past without disavowing his contemporary tonal language. Some of the works by the trained percussionist and composer, who was rector of the Detmold University of Music from 1993 to 2001, have political references. They reveal a creator who does not see himself as an isolated artist in an ivory tower but as a human being in society. A rewarding voyage of discovery!
