Vinyl LP pressing. 2012 , the fourth album from the British Indie Pop band. Plumb was recorded throughout 2011 at the band's new studio on the banks of the river Wear in Sunderland. Largely abandoning the classic songwriting conventions embraced on 2010's Measure, Peter and David Brewis remodel the modular, fragmented style of their first two albums, only now it's shot through with the surreal abstractions of 20th-century film music from Bernstein to Willy Wonka and the off-beam Funk and pristine Synth Rock developed on the brothers' School of Language and the Week That Was albums. Limited clear vinyl LP pressing. 2021 . Field Music return with Flat White Moon. Following their heptad of critically acclaimed albums that has seen them nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, perform on BBC's Later with Jools Holland and tour on both sides of the Atlantic, Flat White Moon began with the desire to play and to have fun. The initial recordings pushed a looser performance aspect to the fore, inspired by some of their very first musical loves; Free, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. This playfulness became a way to offset the darkness and the sadness of many of the lyrics. Field Music take on the challenge of representing negative emotions in a way that doesn't dilute or obscure them but which can still uplift. The result is a generous record of bounteous musical ideas, in many ways Field Music's most immediately gratifying to date.
It took The Feelies six years to create the Good Earth, their follow-up album to Crazy Rhythms. The album was co-produced by Feelies co-captains Glenn Mercer and Bill Million along with REM's Peter Buck who was a Feelies admirer since his days as a record store clerk. The Good Earth was an early on Coyote Records the tag started by Steve Fallon of Maxwell's in Hoboken where the group became one of the club's most popular acts. The Good Earth featured the line-up that continues to this day. The album is an interesting mix of layered acoustic and electric guitars and their signature percussion sound.
