Fiendish Imp - Fiendish Imp / All Hallows Eve - VINYL LP

2020 . Wolf Parade Thin Mind, the group's fifth album for Sub Pop. The 10-track record was recorded by John Goodmanson at Risque Disque on Vancouver Island, BC, mixed by Goodmanson at Bogroll Studios in Seattle, WA, and mastered by Noah Mintz at Lacquer Channel Mastering in Toronto, ON. Thin Mind has sci-fi, post-apocalyptic and dystopian narratives interwoven throughout. These themes emerged while working at Risque Disque, which Boeckner jokingly describes as a Dutchman's failed utopia, a problematic structure with a post-apocalyptic vibe the studio is housed in a stone barn hand-built by the Dutchman in the middle of the woods, using local materials and based on his memory of a building he loved growing up in the Netherlands. Thin Mind finds the core members of Wolf Parade working as a trio, as they did on past albums Apologies to the Queen Mary and At Mount Zoomer, with songwriting duties evenly split between singers Dan Boeckner and Spencer Krug. The album includes the singles InchForest Green,Inch InchJulia, Take Your Man Home,Inch and InchAgainst the Day,Inch the latter of which features a rare, co-vocal performance from Boeckner and Krug.

When the band formed in 1977, they were one of the first punk bands in Stockholm. They quickly became very good at their heavily New York Dolls influenced punk rock, gigged in and around their home town and supported Dead Kennedys in Stockholm 1981. They made studio recordings in both 1980 and 1981. However none of these made it onto vinyl and the band broke up in 1982. The singer, Anders Gustawsson, continued in bands like The Curse and The Bwanas. In 2022 Anders contacted Bollmora Rekords and asked if they wanted to the old Imps recordings. The master tape was long gone and what was left was a couple of cassettes. We managed to restore the recordings and are now very happy to present 14 songs with good sound quality.

2010's All Hallows Eve is the fifth studio effort from East End British metallers Elixir who were notable for being associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. The powerful, exciting and unrelenting collection was recorded by the classic Son of Odin line-up featuring Paul Taylor (vocals), Stormin' Norman Gordon and Phil Denton (guitars), Kevin Dobbs (bass) and Nigel Dobbs (drums). InchWe worked closely with Duncan Storr [Hawkwind] to get a great album cover that suitably reflects the theme of the album,Inch explained Denton at the time. InchWe recorded ourselves this time, which gave us a lot more freedom to experiment and get things sounding how we wanted them to be. We have some killer songs...Inch
