First Descent [DVD] [Standard]

DVD. When John Jones returned home from medical school for a Thanksgiving visit with his wife and 2-year-old daughter, he could not have anticipated that his mortal journey would end 28 hours later, 150 feet underground, at the dead end of a popular cave. Despite the heroic efforts of rescue crews, they were not able to free John's body from the narrow tunnel where he had become stuck while exploring with his brothers and friends. But that doesn't mean John and others weren't saved in a real sense that day. The Last Descent proves the power of love and family can overcome anything... even death.

Mickey Mahaffey's search for himself could not be derailed by what people thought of him. The path went from preacher to living homeless, to being committed to a mental institution, to finally dancing with Tarahumara Indians at the bottom of a remote canyon in Mexico's Sierra Madre. His daughter, Stephanie, spent most of her life defending and justifying her father's choices. His quest for a deeper, yet more simple, spiritual life was constantly at odds with what Stephanie's family and friends expected from a father.

Glen "Lucky" Singer (Robert Urich, TV's "Vegas") is a veteran airline pilot captaining Angel Airlines Flight 19. When his jumbo jet collides with a small aircraft in mid-air, the plane is damaged so that it can no longer descend. With time and fuel running out, Lucky must find a way to land the plane and save its 319 passengers. Also starring Annette O'Toole (48 Hrs.), FINAL DESCENT is a spine-tingling dramatic thriller.
