I’m casual gamer and I must say this game is so addictive. Just what I I envisioned a Fist of the North Star would be. I still remember watching the movie when I was a kid. I got hours of hours of fun game play. So far I’m enjoying my time playing the game.

if you were a fan of this anime back in the day, then you'll love what they did to this. They literally transformed the yakuza game universe and threw it into the world of North star. You can even play as the Dragon, Kiryu himself. The story of course is the same, but we all know what we're here to see. The fighting, and it doesn't disappoint at all. The game itself can be repetitive and while there are plenty of quests to do they can be fetchy at certain times. Just like the yakuza series it does have it's own mini games ranging from tending a bar, playing casino games, and fighting in arenas just to name a few. Overall, I had a great time playing. I never grew tired of watching punks heads explode. Omae wa mou shindeiru!

Initial doubts vanished as soon as I started playing. Addictive minigames, excellent free-roam, awesome substories and cool racing mechanics. The story was great. As someone new to anything Fist of The North Star, it was a perfect introduction. This is a Yakuza title with a Fist of the North Star lore. My only critique of this game applies if you're interested in getting the trophies - the grind is real, to a fault. I want to make a special note of the massive replay value of this game as there is an optional area with really powerful enemies and rare materials exceeding the difficulty of the main story - you are well-rewarded for your curiosity. As usual, Ryu Ga Gotoku studios impressed and to fellow Yakuza fans, you will feel right at home with the Yakuza mechanics and the voice cast - yet you will be playing a different kind of adventure. This is what a good spinoff is.

So this is made by the team that makes the Yakuza games. It is essentially in every way a Yakuza game but in the Fist of the North Star setting. In my opinion, everything here works as ne is a fantastic experience. I love the Yakuza games but had no experience with this anime. It doesn't matter that much. I'm still enjoying my time with this game and loving the bloody and unrealistically gory combat, hilarious dialogue and wacky but sometimes tense anime story. If you like good action RPGs or anime, you can't go wrong here.

I never really played the Yakuza games, so I didn't know what to hope for out of a Fist of the North Star game in that Play style. As it turns out, I probably need to play the Yakuza games now, as this game was a blast. The action was fun and gave off a feeling of power that few games can really pull off these days. Looks great, like I'm actually in the comic and the story is shockingly original. Wroth a purchase.
