About this product

The FLEXIMOUNTS OHK48B-E Black overhead garage rack comes with a bonus accessory hooks! These hooks let you hang tools, extension cords, and other small items along the bottom and sides, freeing up platform space for bulkier items like holiday decorations. It’s a smart way to move large items off the floor and keep them protected from dirt, moisture, and pests.NOTE: Multiple-quantity orders may be shipped in separate packages, and the packages may not arrive at the same time or on the same date.

    Sturdy rack

Shipped and received on schedule. Packed well. All parts intact and as listed. Instructions fairly straightforward. It was best to review all instructions before assembly. Parts fit well. I substituted ceiling lag screws with longer screws (SPAX 5/16 in. x 3-1/2 in. Exterior Hex Head Structural Wood Lag Screws Powerlags Hex # 4571820800905) with adequate load strength. Rack seems sturdy and capable of holding published loads.

Questions & Answers
  • In your ad, you are showing 2 hanging garage racks. Is this a 2-pak? If not, why are you showing Two? I can not figure out 1 or 2. Me, wishing/hoping TWO.?

One of the pictures shows that it can be used as two separate units. Another picture shows that it can be used as one full unit (thus, doubling the size. A third picture shows it mounted to the ceiling & wall. A fourth picture shows it mounted from the ceiling, if you have a ceiling that is sloped on an incline. A fifth picture shows the unit mounted in both parallel & perpendicular manners with 2”x4”s. (*I have a similar unit, by MuscleRack & installed it with 2”x4”s. Make sure that you have lag bolts & secure everything to the ceiling joists-*unseen if you have a finished ceiling, so you would need to locate the joists with a stud finder or equivalent & make pilot holes to make sure that you found the joists, & not blocking/plumbing/electrical/HVAC). **Additional note(s): •Try to not hang the unit(s) from the same joists that the garage door is hung from (excessive weight issue). •Newer homes use I-Joist composite material (different hanging system is required). •Using 2”x4”s helps distribute the weight. •Get the correct length lag bolts that can maintain the weight. •Older homes usually utilize 2”x8” or larger joists, but may not necessarily be in a straight line. Bowing & warping occurs over time, & sometimes the joists just won’t be 16” on center. Hence, pilot holes. -Fill in pilot holes that didn’t hit with joint compound.. ***It looks like it can be used in numerous configurations.
