About this product
The Russian composer Grigori Frid (1915-2012), whose long life encompassed the entire existence of the Soviet Union, is best known for his 1969 chamber opera The Diary of Anne Frank. His sizable output, which has yet to be properly explored, includes three major works for viola and piano, their dignified restraint and emotional honesty taking the late works of Shostakovich as their stylistic starting point. They are followed by In Memoriam Grigori Frid, a touching tribute by Alexander Vustin (born 1943) to his former teacher. Album Tracks 1. I. Phaedra Andante Sostenuto 2. II. Khruangbin's first album is simply amazing. The groove rhythm of the bass perfectly melds with the guitar textured melodies as they are surrounded by a melodic drum beat that takes you to journey into another world. Each song is a distinction of it's own, from the Soul rhythm of InchMr. WhiteInch to the Thai funk inspired InchDern KalaInch to the the surf rock of InchZionsvilleInch. It's a musical masterpiece to experience. Album Tracks 1. Mr White 2. Two Fish and An Elephant 3. Dern Kala 4. Little Joe & Mary 5. White Gloves 6. People Everywhere (Still Alive) 7. The Man Who Took My Sunglasses 8. August Twelve 9. Balls and Pins 10. Zionsville
