This air conditioner was advertised as a 450 sq ft even though it’s only 10,000 BTU. Most 450 sf models are 12,000 BTU. Honestly, when the temperature is below 90 it keeps up but runs all the time. But when it got up to 95 the other day it struggled to cool my 390 sq ft living room. On top of that it makes a lot of noise. At times it runs at a good level but then it will start sounding like a helicopter taking off. I haven’t run it long enough to see how it affects my energy bill. My latest bill is up about 30%. We have a heat dome arriving this week so I’ll find out a lot more in the next 10 days. I would recommend but not for a room larger than 350 sq ft.

This device feels of high quality. I was able to install it on a second floor, in an old-fashioned window, by myself. My only concern is that, while the engine doesn't make much noise at all, that inevitable crinkling sound, like sand through a fan, or crumpling sound, makes me wonder if this is normal. Support help did not answer the question even though an extended warranty was purchased. No idea if I'm using a defective device.

For basic troubleshooting, please ensure the unit is installed securely and level in the window, and check that no packaging materials or loose components are making contact with the fan. Some expansion and contraction noises from the cabinet can be normal as the unit cools, but if the sound is continuous or seems abnormal, we'd like to help determine whether service is needed.

We've been using this unit for about 2 weeks now. It is quiet but doesn't cool very well at all. It is no better than a fan. We will be returning and will exchange for another Frigidaire that IS NOT an inverter. Our last Frigidaire, with less BTU, lasted for 15 years and was freezing. I know that Inverter units save on energy but if it is not really cooling, it's kind of pointless.

This unit is in an enclosed 400 sq ft deck with large windows on all 3 sides. we are very pleased with how well it cools and how quiet it is. Installation was easy and Best Buys service was excellent.
