My bedroom is in a 308 sq ft basement.. Last summer the humidity got so bad mold began to grow on my shoes that I had packed away! And it effected my breathing. So this year I invested in this dehumidifier. Best thing I could’ve done! No musty smell and no mold. Awesome auto shut off when desired humidity is reached and or collecting bucket is full. I can have it run while I’m at work and not have to worry. Although I could’ve purchased the 50 pint according to the square footage I don’t have a drain to discard water.. so to avoid having to hall the bucket upstairs constantly I opted for the 70 pint, which was also suggested by the Best Buy employee that helped me out. I can have it going for about 2-3 days constantly before having to dump the water. It also keeps it relatively cooler than the rest of the house.

This is our second Frigidaire dehumidifier. The first one was damaged by a power surge from a lightning strike. It was the best unit I have ever owned. We were going through units every two years prior to the Frigidaire unit. After the lightning I tore the damaged unit apart to review the internal components. The unit looked like new except for the electrics. This was after five years of service in daily use. No corrosion in the unit. Well built. Good design.

Great on maintenance and works as advertised! Easy to clean filter.

Running continuously in my basement. It is pulling three buckets of water a day from the air. Keeping the humidity level below 50%.

Pro: I'm amazed at how much water this dehumidifier draws out of the air in my basement. I can't use the hose, so I just empty the bucket twice day into my potted plants. Con: The collection bucket of my new unit grew mold/mildew after < two weeks of use. It is very difficult to take the top apart to clean it. Feels like you'll break the plastic parts, but that is what Frigidaire recommended. They had no ideas for mold prevention.

The dehumidifier is very efficient. I like being able to set the % and it will shut off when it reaches that %. It is quiet and does not interfere with the TV when it is running. The bucket is easy to remove and empty. I rolls easily to wherever I want to place it in the room. My electric bill has dropped considerably since I have been using it. It is definitely an energy saver.

I wish I had known about this wonderful machine long ago! This machine has made a HUGE difference in our Texas home. I sleep a whole lot better now because there is minimal humidity in my house. I noticed dry items in my house like salt, sugars and spices that are not in air tight containers do not clump any longer! I am able to keep our thermostat for the a/c @79 degrees and it actually feels very cool in our home. I ask visitors if they are comfortable with the temperature in our home and they say yes it is quite cool. I then show them the thermostat @79 degrees and they can't believe it. They think I had it set at 70 degrees. My a/c doesn't have to work as hard any more. Humidity is a nemesis for arthritis sufferers, so this has been a blessing for me! We purchased the 70 pint and it is perfect for our 1300 sq ft home. We leaving it running in an open living room at all times because it has to have room to circulate the hot air it ejects. We do empty it about every 6-8 hours, depending on how much humidity is going on in our city. It is fairly quiet, just a low hum in the background. I just love this machine for what it has done in the past 30 days for the air in the house!

This product is perfect, not too big, low noise, good looking and super easy to setup. Additionally look for coupons online about small appliances and the price will be very attractive.

I read many reviews and many were negative, but this dehumidifier seemed the best pick. I have not been unhappy with it. It is in a large open basement and has performed quietly and efficiently. Because of the bad reviews on durability, I took out a four year protection plan.

When my 15 yr old Kenmore dehumidifier finally gave up the ghost, I had to dive into a full-fledged search of what's out on the market, and understand which models had been recalled. The Frigidaire 70-gal unit consistently had great reviews, and reading some of the comments helped me with my final choice. It's a high quality item, reasonably priced, and in my opinion runs rather quietly. The water bin is easy to manage and has a clear cover to prevent water from spilling while transporting it to the laundry tub. The unit alerts you when the bin is full and when the filter needs rinsing. I could've ordered it from an internet vendor, but was concerned about damage in transit, so I got it from a big box media store for the same price. I also took the advice from other consumers and purchased a 2-yr warranty. I am very, very pleased with my purchase; the unit looks very nice and runs smoothly.

This is now the third Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier I have purchased. My first one had a product recall. My second one lasted about 5 years before it had, let’s just say, divine intervention and did not burn down my house. What did I do next? I bought another Frigidaire. The reason I bought yet another Frigidaire dehumidifier is that no other dehumidifier on the market seems to work so well as these. Frigidaire dehumidifiers are energy star certified and are quite quiet, making it possible to watch TV in a nearby room and not find the sound bothersome. Why go with another brand? Now, back to my second Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier that I replaced. Luckily, I was home at the time. I started smelling a hot plastic electrical smell. I sniffed around the house and ended up at the Frigidaire dehumidifier. It smelled much like it was burning, but was still running. I pressed the on/off button and the fan turned off however the compressor kept running. Feeling the sides, I basically freaked out as the sides of the unit were quite hot, like extremely hot. I was able to unplug the dehumidifier and put the smoldering burning smell to an end. One might only speculate what could have happened if I had not been home, or been asleep, or been outside, or you know not been around the unit. The very next day, I bought another Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier, however I now use lots of caution when running it. It is only turned on when I’m home and nearby. Why can’t dehumidifiers be made safe?

The Frigidaire - 70-Pint Dehumidifier works extremely well and has done a nice job in my basement. It is a nice looking unit and runs quietly. I didn't realize how humidity effected the overall comfort level. It is still cool in the basement, but not chilly.

Very quiet operation. Removes dampness in the basement as expected. Easy to set up- just set the humidity level and fan speed. Rest is fully automated. Make sure to connect a drain hose to HVAC condensation pump. Otherwise you will have to dump collected water everyday.

I use the product in a very humid basement where we've have mold growing. Within one day of running the product the humidity level was brought way down. To get 70 pints from this unit you'd need a very humid environment and need to empty the tank a bunch because it is about 1-2 gallons but it could do it! It does produce some heat in the room when the motor is running.

I am happy with this dehumidifier. Set up was easy. It connects to a hose which drains into my sump for convenience. It is quiet, not silent, but quiet. Noise was a big problem with my last dehumidifier and we don't even notice that this one is running.

Precise easy-to-understand controls. Unit runs quietly and performs well.

Replaced an older Whirlpool unit. This one is quieter and moderately more energy efficient. Good overall performer. It's kinda tricky getting the drain bucket in and out of position. Don't underestimate how heavy a full bucket is, if you are dragging it upstairs to empty.

We've had a number of brands of dehumidifiers over the years, and they tend to not last very long. The Frigedaire has a larger capacity than we've used in the past, and the motor is much quieter - it purrs. It does an excellent job of getting the water out of the air without being noisy.

I just love this dehumidifier.......its quite, attractive and best of all I do not have to constantly dump the water out. I really like the light that tells you when its time to clean the filter. I have had many of these. This one is awesome!

I have this in my basement and have seen no knew mold. It's relatively quiet and filled up with water pretty fast which proves to me that there was a problem. I doesnt fill up as fast anymore, so I think it is doing it's job. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
