Double vinyl LP pressing. 2013 from the Michigan-based Alt-Folk Rock band. Ignoring the clichéd trappings of antiquated rural fetish that seem to make tired the modern Folk movement, and the urban love-fest which holds the majority of indie culture enwrapped, Frontier Ruckus instead celebrates and insulates itself within a world that is uniquely suburban. The 20 song strong Eternity of Dimming is the closing chapter of their suburban memory landscape series, is the embodiment of real things - not of the world that now contains paper-thin computers and full length records clocking in at 25 minutes. This is the gorgeous and inevitable disintegration of all that we once knew ourselves by, blurring into the graininess of gradual dusk.

Limited grey marble-colored vinyl LP pressing. Slap-Happy is the sixth and final studio album by the American rock band L7. It was released on August 24, 1999 by Bong Load Records in collaboration with Wax Tadpole Records, an independent record tag that the band formed after being dropped by Reprise Records in 1997. L7 recorded the album as a trio formed by founding members Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner, and longtime drummer Demetra Plakas following the departure of bassist Gail Greenwood. It was made with a low budget and produced by the band and their friend Brian Haught. Unlike previous L7 albums, Slap-Happy more varied and slower-paced songs, with some of which borrowing elements from other genres like hip hop. Upon , the album received generally mixed reviews from music critics and suffered dismal sales partly due to the poor distribution and support by Bong Load. Some critics found the album predictable and too similar to previous L7 albums, but others highlighted certain songs for their nifty musical style.

Time has settled things, the fossils of Frontier Ruckus? first records remain, but a new rolling house has been built upon it by the band, as if pulled from show to show, tour stop to tour stop. Matthew Milia and company aren’t stopping. There's some place to be. Now 6 years on from their first full length, lauds from NPR, Paste, Rolling Stone, and Daytrotter in the rear-view, and remnants of tours to Europe and each corner of these United States scattered in fanny-packs and hollow-body guitar cases, Sitcom Afterlife, set to arrive 9/11/2014, speaks with a more compact and frontal approach.
