Fucked Up - David Comes To Life - VINYL LP

Belgium's Akem Manah delivers a haunting fusion of melodic death, doom, and gothic metal. With epic storytelling, cinematic soundscapes, and crushing riffs paired with emotive vocals, they craft music that is both darkly atmospheric and powerfully melodic. Fans of My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, and Katatonia will find a fresh yet classic sound, perfect for collectors, festivals, and metal enthusiasts seeking depth and intensity. Threnodies is a cycle of human unraveling in ten dirges for those who sought the truth behind the world and found only the abyssal chaos staring back. Each song recounts a different descent into forbidden knowledge, madness and death of men and women who, out of grief, faith, or hunger for meaning, reached too far into the Mythos. Their stories are not about monsters but about the human need to see beyond the illusion of order, and the silence that answers. Musically, Threnodies draws from doom and black metal's bleak cadence, but with an overt horror tone. A lament sung from within the void rather than against it. Every track is a threnody in the ancient sense, namely a song for the dead, and for what in us dies when we understand too much.

Fucked Up - Rivoli [VINYL LP] Black, Clear Vinyl, Gatefold LP Jacket, Magenta , Smoke date 11/17/2023

Out February 23rd on translucent orange vinyl for the album's 15th anniversary Fucked Up's now classic album 'The Chemistry Of Common Life' synthesizes numerous diverse impulses into an expansive epic about the mysteries of birth, death, and the origins of life (and re-living). Merging elements of hardcore songwriting with up to 70 tracks of guitars, organs, winds and vocals, (including 18 guitars on the first single, the fatalistic InchNo EpiphanyInch), the music remains iconoclastic and startling, with Pink Eyes' vocals front and center. Guest musicians, of course, abound, notably gorgeous voices such as Brooklyn's Vivian Girls and Toronto's Katie Stelmanis.
