The Tamron 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 (Model AFA071S-700) is the world’s first all-in-one zoom to achieve a maximum aperture of F2.8 at the 28mm wide-angle end. Despite covering a wide range of focal lengths, the lens is lightweight and compact, making it convenient to bring along for all your picture taking needs. When combined with a compact, lightweight full-frame/APS-C mirrorless camera, it allows photographers to capture virtually every scene they encounter in daily use, travel, sports and nature. Tamron did not compromise on optical performance. The use of special lens elements—including LD (Low Dispersion) and XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion)- help suppress chromatic aberrations, making it possible to achieve high image quality from edge to edge. With a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.19m (7.5 in) at the wide end and 0.8m (31.5 in) at the telephoto end, the lens also offers high-level close-up shooting performance. The new model has been updated with TAMRON’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) and the optical design has been completely reworked from the ground up to attain uncompromising optical performance throughout the entire zoom range. In addition, the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) AF system faithfully fulfils the intentions of the photographer to a high degree of precision in steps of 0.005mm, less than one-tenth the width of a human hair to further enhance the tracking performance of moving objects such as vehicles and sports action, ensuring you never miss decisive scenes whether shooting still images or video.
