About this product

Mozart's Flute Quartets appear on this DVD with excellent sound, and with the instrumentalists situated around the listener, which has become the trademark of the TACET tag. The result is a chamber music tonal picture in which all the instruments are of equal importance and the flute does not force itself to the fore. Musically the recording is also remarkable; (crescendo) TACET's creative use of this multichannel medium takes Mozart's lovely Baroque background music out of the soporific and into the energetic. And the playing is first rate. (Audiophile Audition)

Gaede Trio Berlin - Gaede Trio Series 9 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

According to the title page this is the ninth CD by the Gaede Trio. If the others are half as good as these ones then I've got some catching-up to do, I thought. Daniel Gaede, former leader of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and his colleagues from Berlin explore the whole bandwidth of interpretation, from a sparkling Haydn through Beethoven in his most dramatic C Minor mood to the cafe kitsch of Fritz Kreisler. The Kreisler arrangements by Fredo Jung do far more than simply convey the piano part this is a fully thought-out composition for string trio, with a welcome fullness of sound and unexpected accompanying parts. Jeff Beck - Rough & Ready - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

An early Jeff Beck Group triumph, this 1971 LP features Cozy Powell on drums. The opening hard rocker InchGot the FeelingInch and the soul-stirring InchSituationInch join the proto-power ballad InchJodyInch; the prog-rock adventure InchMax's Tune,Inch the killer medley InchNew Ways/Train Train,Inch and more. Gaede Trio Berlin - Gaede Trio Plays Schubert - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This formidable ensemble, founded in 1991 and an international symbol of fine chamber and string music culture, demonstrates musicological centres with the aid of three works the Gaede Trio works it's way elegantly into each composition and discovers a particular timbre and depth in each one. It is simply delightful to follow these chamber musicians as a listener because it is an experience. (Das Orchester) Inch... seldom has a string trio displayed such smooth tone and cultivated playing. Even more impressive are the apparent ease and balance; their early Schubert is calm but always so fresh and alert that it never sounds old-fashioned. This is a graceful, lilting performance; a few exaggerated phrases add color without distorting the line If this performance (Dohnanyi) fails to erase memories of the Heifetz-Primrose-Feuermann recording, it does replace that classic as the one I will listen to most often. It also reveals the Gaede's range this could be three different ensembles, specialists in the Classical, Late-Romantic, and Expressionist repertoires.Inch (Fanfare)
