Upgrading from the Dashcam 45, this is a really good product. 1440p resolution, voice control, and the safety features make a not so fancy car have more safety features. Comes with plenty of cable to run and hide under the dash and is low profile, so it can be hidden near the rear view mirror area.

After buying several cheap dashcams on Amazon and having them all fail within weeks, I have finally found a good product. The footage is clear, day or night which is the most important thing. The voice commands also works really well and you won't have to repeat yourself a million times like some other assistants. The app works great too if you need to review the footage on the go. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable dashcam. Its worth every penny and it is a must have as the standards for drivers gets lower and lower by the day.

This dash cam is easy to set up. Has lots of features and when set up correctly, it’ll give you a peace of mind when driving. It’s compact and won’t bother you much when driving.

I like it. It’s small easy to use. The app is pretty good. I like how it continues to record after the SD card is full. The quality of the videos is great.

I had my eye on the Dash Cam 55 model but held off due to the some concerns I’ve read about over shaky video. The 56 not only takes care of that but also adds some very interesting features, such as the ability to network up to 4 cameras. The driver-aid features - lane departure, collision warning, and go alert - are pretty impressive given that it’s an after market camera slapped up on the windshield. Of course I don’t depend on it, however it’s nice to have. In the future I’d like to see a model with LTE or 5G auto-uploading to the cloud, however I’m not sure I’d want to pay for the amount of data these cameras generate. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. I’ve seen other brands, but I know and trust Garmin. Also, Travelapse is quite fun. I look forward to adding a Garmin mini cam or two for around the car monitoring.

Very nice compact dash cam. I do suggest you also buy the parking mode cable for it so can record when your vehicle is off and you are not in it. Works great with the garmin drive app, easy access to your videos or pictures.

I've owned this for a little over a year and use it in my 2020 4Runner. The video quality is great, easy to install, easy to export videos. I only use it while driving, it is not hooked up to the battery (through additional optional adapters) to enable parking mode. A little more than a year later and I'm glad I made this purchase and would buy again.

This is my first dash cam and I am blown away with how good the quality is and the size. Installation was a breeze. Spend the extra money and get the parking mode cable. You won't be disappointed.

This is my first dash camera and it's honestly a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I wish the packaging was better but the camera itself is pretty good so far!

Seems like good dashcam but does not work well with app. Connection lost most of the time and cannot reconnect so no control except at the camera. Seems to get hung up when trying to reconnect and cannot turn off or do anything else. Needs very large SD card as it also adds an 8 Mb control file with each one minute clip. Had to return after only short time due to malfunctions.

Thank you for your product review. It sounds like the dash cam may need to be updated. Along with updating via the Garmin Drive app, the dash cam can also be updated with the Garmin Express Program. Connecting the dash cam to the computer and updating with Garmin Express may resolve the issue. Please see www.garmin.com/express for installation instructions. <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/Garmin.jpg" alt="Garmin" title="Garmin" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

Not Best Buy’s fault obviously but the reviews of not connecting seem to be building. Updated firmware, downloaded the drive app, booted up cam and while all functions seemed to be ok it would never broadcast Bluetooth. Tried three IPhones, iPhone 8, 10 plus and a new 11. Nothing would see the device. I’m returning and going with the 66 hoping it’s just a total defect and the Bluetooth is dead but still very disappointed that it would leave inspection with no Bluetooth transmitting. Hoping the new one will fly as I like my gps unit from garmin that I already have and the interface seems to look good......I decided to go with the 66 for no other reason than 50 Bucks more for a wider capture not cause I think the 56 is all bad just got the one that was defective.....hard to do anything other than one star for poor testing units that are going out the door by garmin, just hoping the app and the unit talk better than the reviews state. Wanted it to work but it just didn’t and believe me I tried for hours....

This is my first dash cam and as I semi truck driver it's something that I need. My one gripe is that I wish it were a bit brighter but overall I recommend this product.

The Garmin Dash Camera is good the lane departure and features are great. The on line delivery took a month unacceptable as it was supposed to be a Christmas gift. There was no updates on expected delivery L

This is my second Garmin as had one in a previous 2018 vehicle which I traded for a 2021. Decided to leave in previous vehicle and purchase new Garmin as thought there could be some improvements. Very pleased with this model and sure will like the new unit.

The camera works fine but the biggest viewing area I have is my phone. I try to view on my desktop and it doesn’t work. Really upsetting!

You can connect the Garmin Dash Cam to the computer to view, transfer, or delete videos and photos stored on the device's memory card. Within 9 months of purchase, the dashcam's GPS completely stopped working and recording speed and location....same with the Garmin Dashcam Mini. Numerous attempts to update the software and firmware in addition to contacting Garmin directly have been unsuccessful in remedying the issue. While it is good to have video of incidents, the key is to produce evidence of speed and location as well. This dashcam was not cheap but its performance is.
