Great beginning gps

Very easy to use out of the box. Menu set up is very intuitive. The buttons are great for use with gloves or in cold or poor weather. I just don't like the joystick taking away from the size of the screen.
I would recommend this to a friend

Thank you for the feedback. We understand you were not happy with the joystick, this is something we have gone away with on the new eTrex Touch series. You can check them out to see if this is a better option. Sent a Returned Item

So my review on the GPS itself is a 5 stars... only grip is that the screen is small but I knew that so I'm not complaining. The issue is that Best Buy ordered one for me because none were in stock. I paid retail price and they sent me one from their returns center! So in fact I got an open box.... thanks Best Buy for saving a buck.

Great for hiking

Took it on a familiar hiking trail and it worked accurately. Planning on using it for a backcountry hike in the Adirondack Mountains.

Device is junk stay away - Garmin Service is worse

Spent hours downloading and reloading 24k maps, device would not read display them. Garmin service person was rude. Wasted hours trying to get device to work - now off to exchange or refund at best buy 65 miles away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
