Breeze through kitchen cleanup with this GE GFC520V 1/2 HP disposer that features stainless-steel jam-resistant, dual-swivel impellers to power through tough food debris. Sound reduction technology helps quiet operational noise.
A: Hello, This is Joyce from GE. I will be happy to help. The garbage disposer doesn’t have a back flow stopper or a check valve. The dishwasher high drain loop will prevent the back flow of water. Be sure to follow the installation instructions and you should be fine. You will just need to run the discharge pipe from the dishwasher into the garbage disposal for everything to work properly. The process is fairly simple, be sure to remember to remove the knockout plug so the dishwasher will be able to drain properly.
Q: My current garbage disposal is hardwired. can this unit be hardwired or do you have to get the plug?
A: Hi Karen- Yes, GE® 1/2 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposer GFC520V is non-corded and hard-wired (accessory power cord WC12X10002 is an option and sold separately). Installation is a breeze with fewer parts and steps. Play Video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/egfzPpIfj64?rel=0 - Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! SUE@GEA
