  • Features
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: What is meant by tall tub will the unit fit in a standard opening

A: Hello Mrjan - We appreciate your interest and we are happy to help! Tall tub dishwashers are 15% larger than our standard tub in our ADA and short door dishwashers. These tub interiors are both taller and wider than the standard tub. In addition, the tubs are shallower so they can be installed flush in standard cabinets. They are designed to optimize tub dimensions and provide "more space in the same place" as traditional tubs. This dishwasher will fit in a standard opening. We are glad you checked. Olga

Q: This dishwasher is less than I expected, I had a 20 year old Jenn-air that washed better than this one. It starts out washing with cool water does it not have a heater. My water heater is on the other side of the house. why are cycles so long.

A: Hello Patti, Thank you for reaching out to us. We will be happy to assist you. We want to apologize that your dishwasher is not performing to your standards. This is not the quality we strive to achieve. If your dishwasher is starting out with cold water, then it is recommended that before running the dishwasher you run hot water from your kitchen sink. The optimal temperature will be between 120 and 150 degrees F. You can measure this by running water over a candy or meat thermometer. To address the issue of longer cycles, this is normal and may be the result of the turbidity sensor detecting soil in the water. For the best performance it is recommended you allow the cycle to finish. We hope this information has been helpful. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. -MH

Q: GE dishwasher (PDF820SSJSS) stopped working in the middle of a cycle with water accumulation inside the unit. Water was removed, filters were cleaned and the unit was rest by unplugging it but it still does not get power. This after just 5 years

A: My GE PDF820SSJ2SS trips its INTERNAL circuit breaker for time to time and is DOA. Remove the kick plate (2 screws) and find the silver box to your right. Pull it down slightly and you'll see a white plug with a silver tab. Push the tab up to reset the breaker...FIXED

Q: How do I turn the Dry function off entirely? I don't want "dry" or "dry boost"; I want my dishes to air dry.

A: We can understand wanting your dishes to just air dry and are happy to help. This dishwasher does not have an option to turn the heated dry feature off on this dishwasher and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know since we would love to help. -Chris@GEA

Q: How do you turn the Dry Boost off? I want to save money (and time) by not using the drying feature.

A: Hello- Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! Pressing the Dry touchpad once selects Heated Dry and a second time activates the Dry Boost. Dry Boost will remain engaged until it is de-selected by pressing the Dry button. We hope this is helpful! If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. Joyce@GEA
