Answered by GE AnswersHi - Great question! As of January 1994, all GE Appliances branded refrigerators moved from a rotary compressor to a reciprocating compressor. A reciprocating compressor, also known as a Scotch Yoke compressor, is designed to give years of reliable service. This type of compressor consists of a reciprocating piston operating in a stationary cylinder. Additionally, none of our refrigerators use linear (inverter) compressors. if the space is 35" will the door open all the way against a wall
Answered by GE AnswersThis refrigerator needs 60-1/2" for the doors to be able to fully open. The doors have to fully open for the drawers in the fresh food section to pull out. If you'd like, you can view more on this on page 24 of the Use and Care manual.
Can the icemaker be removed?
Answered by GE AnswersThe icemaker is factory installed on the GDE25EYKFS so you wouldn't be able to remove it. If you don't want the freezer on this model to produce ice, then we don't recommend connecting the water line to the unit.
