Can this become propane?
Answered by GE AnswersOur gas cooking products will come from the factory equipped for natural gas, but they can be converted to be used with liquid propane. The LP conversion kit comes with the unit. If you make this change, adjustments would need to be performed by a qualified technician, and they would need to adhere to both local codes and the installation instructions. We advise keeping the natural gas orifices when the conversion is performed, as there is not usually a natural gas conversion kit available if you ever need to convert back.
Is the lower part and upper part supposed to have two different finishes? The upper part is smooth and the lower part is rough and feels unfinished. I can not wipe the lower part clean because cleaning clothes or rags stick to it.
Answered by GE AnswersThe overall material finish is the same on the top and bottom of the shelf. It’s a brushed stainless steel. What you may be feeling on the back/underside of the part is minor edge imperfections that occur in the process of manufacturing the holes. A very small amount of material is displaced top to bottom in the cutting process and can be felt as some slight surface roughness around the edges of each individual hole. -Vikki@GEAppliances

Can the shelf be used as a warming shelf to keep food warm with the heat lamp in the hood?

How deep is the shelf? How much load can the shelf bear? Will it be possible to keep an appliance such as toaster oven or microwave or air fry on the shelf?
Answered by GE AnswersThe shelf measures approximately 9 11/16"D. We do not make a toaster oven or microwave that is approved for placement on this shelf above a range or cooktop as they are not designed to withstand the heat from the cooking product below. The shelf allows for easy access to your favorite spices and/or cooking utensils.
