Our previous cooktop conked out after 15 years of service. We pick the GE model because it has no knobs, has a well arranged touch area for heat controls, and it fit our built in spot. One improvement is that it is easier to clean. Our old unit controls would go nuts when we ran a sponge over the area...while this unit does not complain. There are 2 reasons the rating is 4 stars not five. First is the amount of time to boil water. Our previous unit was have radiant heat and half induction and the induction could heat a big pot of water in a couple of minutes instead of 10 or more. Second, the timer alarm is too quiet and has no volume control. When the fan is on above the cooktop it is very hard to hear. We have started using the microwave timer instead that has 3 volume levels.

We were so accustomed to our previous cooktop that the burner arrangement is taking some getting used to. Everything works fine, just wish they didn't change the configuration. The cabinet did have to be modified due to an alteration in the new design.

This cooktop was replacing a 15 year old Ge Profile cooktop. There are no knobs for operation. Everything is operated by fingertips.Getting use to arrangement of burners takes an adjustment. It is easy to accidentally turn on a burner you are not using but there is a lock out feature that controls all burners. Read the directions and practice using the features. I haven’t used the WiFi feature yet.

I love this cooktop! Our old one broke because some liquid seeped into the knobs of our flat cooktop and destroyed the electronics. We decided to get a new one without knobs, wo we wouldn't have this problem in the future. I have used this cooktop numerous times now and it is so easy to use. It gets hot immediately and has a control lock so it will not be turned on accidentally. It is so easy to clean, and no more worrying about food or liquids getting underneath any knobs. I would highly recommend this GE profile product. We have had several GE profile products, and they all work great and are very reliable.

I like the cooktop without the knobs, but the adjustments now aren't as precise as turning the old knobs. It's easy to clean the top without having to clean under the knobs. There are three smaller eyes on this top with one large eye. Two of the smaller eyes can be used together for a griddle.

Hello- Thank you for your purchase. This is a really nice cooktop and hope that you enjoy cooking on it. We can understand your concern and want to ease your mind. It is normal for there to be a slight gap between the cooktop and the counter, especially when first installed. There is foam tape that is placed on the underside of the cooktop edge during installation. This foam tape is required, since it cushions and protects the cooktop. Over time, the foam will compress, though some gap could still be evident. Note: We do not recommend using silicone sealant or caulk to seal the edges. Use of a sealant will prevent the cooktop from being removed should service be required. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. We are happy to help! Cooktop is great! We had great difficulty in in scheduling install with disposal of old unit which required more than one appointment, then installer told us they could not install. Actually they told my son as they showed up at a time we told them we could not be there. So I had to install it myself. Great cooktop, but will use a different vendor next time.

The order was delayed for several times for several weeks. Order was promised for 12/24/24 and did not come in until 1/29/25. Poor customer service - I was promised compensation for all my troubles and received none.

Takes 45 min to boil water (barely boiling), randomly turns off when you decrease the heat. Sometimes recognizes my pots, sometimes does not. GE has been out 3x. They order parts, decide against installing them, order different parts. Last service call the tech, called the engineer. Everyone agrees the cooktop is not working correctly yet so suggestions to fix for good. There is no plan. Interesting reviews are turned off directly on the GE website, as others who purchased this winter had similar issues. Guessing they have a production issue. My new BOSCH is a dream. It actually boils water in 4 min. Amazing,
