    Beautiful but glass top is fragile

    2 days after installation a bottle fell at the edge of the lower left burned and the glass broke and cracked.

    Love flat service

    Love the very smooth flat service with no knobs. So easy to keep without interference of knobs.

    30" Touch Cooktop

    Our previous cooktop conked out after 15 years of service. We pick the GE model because it has no knobs, has a well arranged touch area for heat controls, and it fit our built in spot. One improvement is that it is easier to clean. Our old unit controls would go nuts when we ran a sponge over the area...while this unit does not complain. There are 2 reasons the rating is 4 stars not five. First is the amount of time to boil water. Our previous unit was have radiant heat and half induction and the induction could heat a big pot of water in a couple of minutes instead of 10 or more. Second, the timer alarm is too quiet and has no volume control. When the fan is on above the cooktop it is very hard to hear. We have started using the microwave timer instead that has 3 volume levels.

    New Features

    This cooktop was replacing a 15 year old Ge Profile cooktop. There are no knobs for operation. Everything is operated by fingertips.Getting use to arrangement of burners takes an adjustment. It is easy to accidentally turn on a burner you are not using but there is a lock out feature that controls all burners. Read the directions and practice using the features. I haven’t used the WiFi feature yet.

  • What is the cut out dimensions for the 30 inch electric cooktop

    Hi there! Thank you for checking with us on this. For this cooktop, the cutout dimensions are between 28 1/2 - 28 5/8" of length and 19 5/8 - 19 3/4” of width. The cutout also needs a 1-3/4” MIN between the rear edge of the cutout and the wall behind the cooktop and a 2-1/2” MIN from the front edge of the cutout and the front edge of the countertop.
