This is a terrible hood. There is only one fan (many 36 inch hoods have 2 fans). The fan is positioned far from the center, so that it really only pulls from on side. The fan is loud. One of the two lights stopped working within a month of installation. I have a service appt scheduled . . . Fingers crossed.

We are sorry to hear one of your lights stopped working and the hood isn't working as you expected. We have some great information on our GE Appliances site that will explain the tissue test and how to confirm it is venting properly. I loved the in home consultation and the explanations the Designor gave me as we looked at my existing range hood. However, I am disappointed as only one side of the range hood draws air in. When I put a piece of paper on the screen, one side sucks and holds the paper and the other has no pull at all. I am disappointed and will call for a repair.

Garbage product made worse by Best Buy's garbage installation team. They ripped the old unit off the wall and damaged it even though it was in perfect working condition. They installed the new unit poorly resulting in it constantly rattling loudly and dumping half of the exhaust fumes into the cabinet above it because they didn't seal it properly even though I asked them to make sure. Replacement unit was scheduled to be delivered/installed today. Best Buy calls me at 7:30am to tell me my appointment is cancelled because the product isn't in stock. Replacement not available until 11/21 and earliest installation date is 11/30. We can't use our stove because the hood doesn't vent properly and we have 20+ people coming over for Thanksgiving. Best Buy customer service is a joke. Best Buy's Envision installation services are a joke. This product is also a joke.

Our electrician was already in the house and was willing to install this new hood for us. Power to the unit was confirmed and it fit like a glove in the existing space beneath our cabinet. The unit would not power on and on that day, we called the GE help desk. They sent out a technician to look at the problem the next day and he determined that we needed a new electronic unit in the brand-new hood. Parts were ordered, delayed, canceled, reordered and 3 weeks later, we have no working hood and no answer as to when the parts will be in. It has never turned on. This is a manufacturer's issue but nonetheless, very frustrating. The filter frames are flimsy and warped and don't sit flush in their places. That's all for now.

The filters did not fit properly and I am STILL waiting for the replacement from the manufacturer which seem to be taking a long time. Not very happy with an unfinished product.

We purchased this for kitchen remodel. We installed it. And lights didn't work.removed lights and saw bare wires. Not good. And filters didn't fit properly. We returned it .Purchased a Windsor model. Much better quality..

Needed a replacement and was glad to See GE still made this - my first one’s lights were rotted at the connection and couldn’t be fixed. New one is great so far

I had to return this because after installation it didn't even work! We were scheduled to have an inspection the next morning and had to scramble looking for a new hood.

Purchased/delivered/installed from Best Buy. Product works great and highly recommend having BestBuy install this range hood. The lights and fan have a touch pad to operate and it works great.

I saw the range hood after I had already selected the stove top. The hood had slight damage, but otherwise works fine. Overall I purchased the pair for a third of the original cost.

Bought the cooktop alongwith the range. The cooktop has a smart light and fan. Both can be adjusted with a push button.

I like the lighting this hood gives over the range top below. I purchased it as an Open Box discount. It was simple to install. It had a significant "ding" but it's "to cook, not look" so the defect isn't of consequence. It has a "through the roof" vent system, but my installation did not allow that option. I need to purchase the optional "carbon filter" for the in-room fan option.

GE makes great appliances and this is too if the line.
