It is a very beautiful design but sadly is not that efficient. I did a research for about a month comparing all models and brands and this hood was at the very top of my budget but figured that the name brand was worth it. It has 2 light levels and 4 speeds which was the perfect combination but once I installed it at 34 inches high, the lowest I could go without hitting my head in the center ( I am 5'9 ), the level 1 and 2 basically do not do any suction, so you have to start at level 3 or go to 4 for some very simple cooking. Even if level 1 or 2 worked it is veryyyy noise amd has no suction power. The suction area is very small and only in the middle so cooking on the side burners doesn't work unless its on level 4. I read reviews about people complaining about how noisy it was and thought that probably people was very picky but at almost $1,500 how is it that is sooo noisy even on level 1. The other issue is the instructions which I also read on other site that they were not good instructions and again thought probably this people has never built anything following instructions but I am now sure they were right. There are 2 levelers screws that have really no function and it is not explain how to use them. It is missing holes were screws are suppose to go and it is not very explained missing some very important details. I really wanted to love it since my research was very long and detailed but unfortunately I would never recommend it because of the its price and efficiency. For basic cooking we don't even turn it on anymore and after spending 2 month waiting for it and all the time and money to have installed it is not cost effective to pull it apart and return it. I never leave a review like this but $1,500 for a hood that I feel is not efficient, noisy and expensive I want other people not the make the same mistake I made by choosing this Hood. Not oven for 50% off is worth the money. I expected btter from a known brand like GE.

The GE Profile Range Hood looks better than the picture shown on the Best Buy website. I have only had this unit one day but it outperforms the unit it replaced. The fan speeds are more than is needed and it is not very noisy except at the very highest speed. I do not see using the highest speed very often unless you make blackened dishes where you need high temp frying.

This hood looks great and really helps the upscale look of my kitchen. Got it for an awesome price. It gives the option to vent externally to recirculate via internal filtration

Besides its great sleek look, the hood is just what we needed. It showcases the kitchen in a very dramatic stylish way. We are very happy with it.

Our kitchen hood is simple but efficient. With its multiple fan speeds and bright lights,it is very effective.

Bought for the look and design. The ventilation is not very strong to transfer the air from the stove.

Looks beautiful in my kitchen and does what it is supposed to do.

The hood was installed in our kitchen and looked great but was installed at a height that was not safe for anyone walking around it. Contractor stated it could not be raised without major ceiling .reconstruction. The concern with this hood is the razor sharp edges and razor sharp corners on the front and back of this range hood. Even my wife who is 5ft 3in tall was concerned and told the contractor to take it out. After a lengthy discussion on solutions how to fix the safety issue my contractor hit one of the corners a split his head open. Our ceiling height is 8 ft so I would say this range hood probably would have worked if we were to have a high ceiling. Beautiful hood but didn’t work for us.

We purchased this hood almost two years ago and had it installed as part of a kitchen remodel. I love the look of the hood, and it works well. My complaint is the lights. There are two tiny halogen lights that are cumbersome to access, difficult to install, and mine have needed to be replaced about every two months on average. The bulbs needed are halogen bulbs with a G4 base that say they last 10,000 hours/9.1 years. You cannot touch them with your hands (which we do not). I wish there were regular bulbs in this hood, then would give it 5 stars.
