A: Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. I'm sorry, you would not be able to slide this unit on the same mounting bracket as your old microwave. The mounting brackets have changed over the years and are not interchangeable. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

A: This one (PVM9195SFSS) has an adjustable exhaust. You can vent to the back, up, or through the top face of the microwave. If you go with the last option they provide a charcoal filter.
