Not bad for half the $$ of Hue, not perfect either
I don't like the idea of a "Hub". It's like debating about the origin of life (except instead of life think "wireless signals" in this case)... e.g. if it came from another planet via asteroid; you still haven't solved the core question, just repositioned it differently. That being said: this Geeni brand (like LIFX, etc.) not needing a Hub is both convenient and less complicated. It feels like as in the analogy above - solved, rather than needing an extra step. I was up and running in under a minute. The app is straight forward and not a hack-job. So far the few I've installed haven't missed a single command, even though it says "the WiFi signal is weak". Flawlessly works with the Echo Dot as well. There are some issues: Geeni claims 1050 lumens, but I think they're telling us a little gray lie of advertising. In normal "Daylight Mode" I can see that being accurate. Really bright for plain white only. However, in a bit of get-what-you-pay-for regarding the "Color Mode"; if they still claim that it's outputting 1050 lumens, I'll quit my electrical engineering career and go live in the wilderness never to return. In other words, no way. The color reproduction is accurate, however maybe half as bright; which I'm afraid is symptomatic of cheaper Smart Bulbs. Although I can't say it's enough to make me regret getting 2 of these bulbs for every 1 of the other brands.

Great gadget
I tried this on a whim since I have a movie room and I love the fact that the light has a built in schedule you can use on your phone app. You can change the colors and this bulb doesn't generate a lot of heat. Also in the app, you can Label the bulbs for different rooms if you like. Will be buying more!

Excellent product.
Just about all of my lights in my home are Philip Hue Bulbs and operate with Alexa. However; my wife purchased two of these Geeni Bulbs and gave them to me to try out. I was surprised, that with these Geeni Bulbs, you don't need a Hub to operate, just the Geeni App which I installed on my cell phone. I have to say, I was very impressed with the way they operate, which was just like the Hue Bulbs but without any operating Hub. I also believe that these Geeni Bulbs are a bit cheaper in price over those Philips Bulbs?
