I will do another post after I have more time riding. Winter/spring season but here is what I know so far. Have ridden 25 mile 3 different rides flat hills and both in one ride. Bike has performed very well. Would definitely recommend this e bike to anyone just starting out with E bikes or anyone who has one already. It is great for commuter bike and good with hills. Did not fail to complete the hill test for me and there is another commercial review not done by the maker that gives this bike great review. It has strong torque and takes off really quick so be warned if not used to this selecting assist 2 is fine but 3 or 4 to start off with will result in very strong take off and quick start. I normally so far use power assist 2 then go up as needed. The gears shift easily and Shimano is always nice to see bike equipped with that. The motor is also quality well known motor and again has sufficient power for a every day commuter bike. Don't be fooled by the limited 20mph. For get around quickly and still handle hills easily I think this bike if great. 500 - 900 Watt rear motor does the job nicely. I have ridden 750 wastt bike with max speed 28 but it bogged down on the same hills this bike handles well. Some will do better than others. Depending on what you really are looking for. Some I think is trade off for speed vs torque. Anyway I recommend this bike. GEN3 is American company which is what I wanted also. Too many foreign bikes taken over the market and not all high quality and poor support. GEN3 has been awesome with support and you can talk to the persons who work for the company. Based in Washington State. Chat and phone. I called and chat both and their support was really great. Very helpful and they have many videos they can link you to and if you still want more help they will stay on phone and walk you through steps for things like adjusting brakes set up display battery etc. etc. Support for me is very important. If you sell a e bike then why not stand behind what you make. These guys do and because in America getting parts or support is easy and quick. They have other bikes available but I bought this one. The Stride to go to work and stores and restaurants and visit friends. Just remember the bike is an investment like any other if you can find company to insure it do it and use high quality locks and use your head when it comes to where to lock your bike up. I keep it in full view of me . I also use Disc Brake locks along with Kryptonite NY Lock and Chain . Lets face it anything worth stealing thieves will try to do it. So keep your bikes locked and safe as possible. Keep it in view of yourself and others etc. Hope this helps. Here another review from; Electric Bike Report. it on You tube. Link here they actually test it out run it up some hills in San Francisco and give it great review. I am 5ft. 11in and the bike fits me just fine. Peace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6zalE2jE9A

I've already put 40mi on this thing and I absolutely love it! Ebikes are a real game changer. I've been commuting not just to work on the Stride Step-Through, but also to my social functions. Now if only there was better infrastructure in my area of the world...

I am loving my new bike, as a total tech member it was delivered and put together by BB and I have been riding it ever since, it’s smooth and easy to handle and can go a long way on a charge

i have ridden a total 524 miles. when i was setting it up, one of the wire was delievered with bent prongs, so i couldnt use the PAS system for the first few days. dont even thjnn about riding this bike if the battery runs out. its super heavy. the tube in my back tire has blown out 2 times. other than that, this bike is good for commuting to work and thats about it. fully charged it does have some kick to it, but the motor rattles , sound like some bearings are loose or something. bike is awful fragile, but you get what you pay for. all in all, 3 stars is fair. id definitly recommend the Gen 3 Groove, with the fat tires instead.

I am an employee of Best Buy and recently tested this bike out. First off I’m including a picture of the box for a sizing perspective for whether it will fit in your vehicle. It’s heavy, but not unmanageable. The bike came out of the box with only a few steps to actually put it together. I read the instructions but preferred the video. I’ve never put a bike together so a little intimidating at the start. I had to loosen the stem and push hard to rotate it around the correct direction. The handlebars were easy, but the front tire had me struggling (again probably bc it was my first time). Nothing too crazy with putting the pedals on and then your ready to roll! One thing I noticed is the throttle is on the left side which I’m used to typically being on the right. There is a walk mode feature that seems like a nice to have. The bike has a nice zip to it! It’s a comfortable ride and I’m excited to put on some more miles! Also the battery was fully charged for me but you may want to check that first!

Great value. Quick and nimble. Best for paved roads. Range is legit 30-40 miles with modicum of pedal assist but I've only run through a few charge cycles so far. More $$ gets you off-road capability, better pedal feel, higher top speeds, better brakes and more. At full price I would look at the latest from Aventon. On sale you can't beat the value here. For most users this could be all the ebike they ever need.
This bike was very heavy and the tires were not good. I do not recommend much.

This e-bike has been a total pleasure to own and is a great value. We have had it for a year and it is still performing as new.

Good e-bike just not enough range for the riding I’d like to do.

A versatile e-bike with lots of great features. I previously had a Vanmoof S2 (before it got stolen), and how well this performed compared to that bike was a welcome surprise! The motor works well and the bike overall is a smooth and comfortable ride. The detachable battery and the bike's accompanying accessories is a nice benefit to this purchase. Overall, if you're looking for a commuting bike, this is a terrific option!

Horrible experience. Received bike, never worked. Went through multiple reps at Gen3 to get parts to fix, as since I purchased the bike was sold out (or I would have swapped for a new one). They send me parts, I install myself because the tech they assigned cancelled on me. The bike still didn’t work, same error 30 code. So, I took to a local bike shop. They installed more parts and still same error. Gen3 said to return to Best Buy and buy directly from them since Best Buy is out of stock. I’d rather not. Hours of my time wasted assembling and trying to fix a broken product, gas to drive the bike around to fix. Just a horrible customer experience, even though I was more than willing to work with them on a solution.

Bought this bike for my kid but ended up riding it 1st to 'test drive'! Fell in love immediately. The zero gear is great if you still want to workout. I did 18-miles and never went above gear 2. Gives you just enough umpf to get up the steep hills in my neighborhood, but rides great in zero gear on the flat streets. Seat is comfortable, and fits my leg-lenght (I'm 5'10"). Liked it SO much I just bought one for myself!! Had BestBuy assembly the 1st one; I'm tackling the assembly this time. Video seems pretty easy. I WOULD recommend this to friends.

Honestly I had the bike for a few weeks and I had to return it because the 1st day I wrote it after the Tech installed it the pedal fell off and the arm where the pedal holds was useless So I had to wait 2 weeks to get a replacement arm and in that time I had filled up the tires by the time the arm came back the tires were both deflated The range has a lot to be desired I felt like giving a full charge overnight I didn't really get close enough to the numbers that were posted on the site

I gets me around and climbs the hills in my very hilly neighborhood. I wasn’t sure on an electric bike but this one has been so much fun and a great buy.

Great commuter bike assembly was little to none and it was nice to have a essential package I didn't know it came with that was a plus
