Limited 180gm colored vinyl LP pressing includes digital download. New Orleans natives Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer struck up a friendship in high school and formed Generationals in 2008. Though their retro vibe bears the influence of Phil Spector's mid-century pop, Generationals' sound is wide-ranging and diverse, incorporating elements of Britpop, dance and electronic music. Above all, with each the band continues zeroing in on their strong suit superior pop songwriting. To celebrate it's 10-year anniversary, Generationals' beloved debut album, 2009's Con Law triumphantly returns to print (colored 180g LP) after years of being unavailable on vinyl. Oranges Band founder Daniel Black engineered and produced the record in the style of his heroes - George Martin, Phil Spector, Jeff Lynn, and Quincy Jones - with meticulous attention to detail and a willingness to make the recordings sound old. The result is one of those Inchfirst recordInch moments that blissfully wills it's listeners into repeat listens even a decade later! Album Tracks 1. Nobody Could Change Your Mind 2. Angry Charlie 3. Faces in the Dark 4. When They Fight, They Fight 5. Our Time (2 Shine) 1. Wildlife Sculpture 2. Bobby Beale 3. Exterior-Street-Day 4. It Keeps You Up 5. These Habits
Generationals - Actor-caster [VINYL LP] Colored Vinyl, Digital Download date 12/06/2019
Built up with layer upon layer of rhythmic lines, computer noises, RZA beats, and poppy vocals that sometimes sound like a Janet Jackson/Prince face-off, Alix is old and new, vinyl and YouTube, vocal chord and micro-korg, gathered up and arranged with great care into a good-smelling, subtly sexy, catchy-or-die mish-mosh of sensibilities and time-warp senselessness, lightly peppered with that signature Swiftian element, but undeniably Generationals in taste. As Swift had decreed 'tis a good idea to tear down and rebuild, but it's not always necessary to start from scratch. Album Tracks 1. Black Lemon 2. Gold Silver Diamond 3. Reviver 4. It Took a Minute 5. Reading Signs 6. Charlemagne 7. Welcome to the Fire 8. Heart in Two 9. Now Look at Me 10. Would You Want Me
