George's success was internationally widespread, with Canada, Europe and the British Isles all becoming regular stomping grounds - with the last, well and truly a second home. It was such activities that earned him the title International Ambassador of Country Music. The Abilene album was released in 1963. The title track reached #1 on the Billboard Country Singles charts remaining there for four weeks and staying on the charts for a total of 24 weeks. Canadian Pacific was released in 1969 and due to it's continuing popularity entered the UK album charts two years later in 1971. The album featured all Canadian songwriters, Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Joni Mitchell, Hank Snow, Bruce Cockburn, Ian Tyson and the writer of the title track, Ray Griff. The album contains three Billboard country hits, 'Steel Rail Blues', 'Early Mornin' Rain' and 'Canadian Pacific'.

Gene Tracy - Jokes for Adults Only [COMPACT DISCS] date 01/01/1996

Vinyl LP pressing. I learned how to play music by ear, and just haven't learned how to read music since, says Tallent. I would listen to the popular music of the day back then. My favorite was Buddy Holly. And I would mimic what he played on my cheap guitar. Step forward a few years later and Garry becomes a member of Bruce Springsteens The E Street Band It wasnt until 2016 that Tallent decided to step out of his comfort zone and finally become his own boss with the of his first solo album, Break Time. He jokes that it took him 65 years to put the album together, and when asked about it, he seems uneasy and looks away. When his gaze returns, so has his confidence and the realization that there's no need to be anxious. Since Break Time, Garry has been working on his second solo , More Like Me. More Like Me is Garrys homage to the sound of the mid-60s; the sounds he grew up and learned by ear on his cheap guitar. He hopes you like it.
