Georgie Fame - Two Faces of Fame / Third Face of Fame - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Georgie Fame is a British Rhythm and Blues, Jazz singer and keyboard player. The 10 tracks of Seventh Son (1969) remain as Georgie Fame's closest brush with Psychedelia apart from sparing use of vocal effects and some fuzzed-out bass, the record continues his maturation from R&B-inspired Jazz-influenced sophisticate. Recorded with an ace session band featuring trumpeter Les Condon, trombonist Chris Pyne and percussionist Frank Ricotti, the 12 tracks of Going Home (1971) boasts a maturity and subtlety often missing from Georgie Fame's previous LPs, it's simple approach strips away some of the more gimmicky elements of his earlier efforts, emphasizing the increasingly honest soulfulness of his vocals. - Import. BGO. 2008.
