As Germany's concentration camps were being liberated by the British Army, Ministry of Information filmmaker Sydney Bernstein sought to document the truth of the atrocities that happened there-and quell lingering pro-Nazi sentiment in the conquered country. By the following fall, the project was scuttled, and the footage languished unseen until the mid-'80s.
