A: Most of our other units offer the green light but this unit will always have a solid red light. It will never flash or change color.
Q: How often does the HEPA filter part of this need to be changed?
A: The Hepa filter will need to be replaced every 6-8 months and vacuumed off once a month.
Q: Any evidence whether this at least helps in killing coronavirus or even cold and flu virus?
A: The unit has not been tested for COVID, but has been tested against flu, staph, pnuemonia, etc. and has shown positive results.
A: The UV light is secured and enclosed inside the unit. If you accidently open the back where the filter is, the UV light automatically turns off. Also, the outside shell of the unit is opaque, the UV rays are pretty well controlled. I've used this unit for 5 months now, and it works pretty well. no UV rays out, clean air all the time.
Q: How effective is it in killing air borne viruses?
A: As long as the unit is run 24/7 with the UV-C light, viruses, bacteria and mold spores will be captured in the filter and mutated by the UV-C light.
