Get Smart - Action Reaction - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. 2018 . HERE LIES MAN took the music world by storm in 2017 with their self-titled debut positing the intriguing hypothesis What if Black Sabbath played Afrobeat? Rough Trade named that album in their prestigious Top 10 Albums of 2017. BBC 6 and Classic Rock Magazine deemed it among the year's best, as well as countless other press outlets singing it's praises. This band comprised of Antibalas members quickly follow their auspicious debut with the even more thoroughly realized album You Will Know Nothing. It's eleven tracks expand upon the band's exploration of heavy riff-based rock and psych within the ancient rhythmic formula of the clave. Sonically, the dynamic range is thicker, crisper and more powerful on this album. It glistens as much as it blasts. The songs are even catchier, more anthemic, and the production reflects that of a band truly come into it's own. While it also certainly maintains it's gritty grooves, there's an interesting conceptual mathematics to the entire proceedings. Lyrically, the album is also an equally more conceptualized effort that reflects upon states of being and consciousness-a driving force that carries throughout the words and moods of all of the band's releases, interconnected to their trancelike music. This band have truly honed their sound and their focus, and soon, you will truly know nothing.

Liverpool-based four piece; Courting returns with sophomore album, New Last Name. The new album is unrestrained and chaotic, and at the same time more focused and detail-oriented than anything Courting have done before. InchWe'd spent our last album campaign giving ourselves a fresh slate,Inch explains vocalist Sean Murphy-O'Neill. InchThat whole record to me in hindsight felt like we had a chance to get rid of any misconceptions about us and present ourselves as an interesting band. On New Last Name, we're moving past that, we just want to make something really special.Inch Brimming with nuance and pop culture references, the band strikes up a track list ranging from funk-pop guitars in InchWe Look Good TogetherInch through to the baroque strings in InchFlexInch or even the country-tinged stylings of InchBabysInch. It would be an understatement to call New Last Name adventurous.

Adriana Hölszky's own comments concerning her music reveal her fascinating use of parameters such as InchspaceInch and InchtimeInch. She prefers to describe her works as individually structured Inchsound spacesInch. There are Inchexpanding and shrinking spacesInch, and there are shifts from one sound area to another, which she compares to film editing with it's sharp cuts or gentle fades. There are sudden InchintrusionsInch of one sound area into another, and sometimes two or more sound areas are superimposed. Also, the concept of time does not exist for her as a single entity Temporal processes appear in multiple strands in her music cosmic time, terrestrial time, and an endless variety of experiential times that permeate one another and are superimposed. Her work InchEfeu und LichtfeldInch [Ivy and Field of Light] also contains a stark contrast within itself. InchThe worlds of the violin and organ appear to exist independently of one another. The violin figures move like pin pricks in a disconnected and restless fashion, primarily in the extreme upper register of the instrument. The organ sounds are like pulsating sources of light. The multiple meanings of the contrasting sounds arise finally as a consequence of the interaction between gradual transformations of color and discontinuous changes in pulse.Inch (Hölszky)
