Gigi & Nate - BLU-RAY

Left quadriplegic at 18 after contracting meningitis from a lake swim, Nate Gibson (Charlie Rowe) was succumbing to despair. His family arranged for a service animal-a trained capuchin monkey named Gigi-and the bond that formed as she aided his rehab would be transformative. Would it last, though, when their viral story raised the ire of animal rights activists? Uplifting fact-inspired drama also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Josephine Langford, Jim Belushi, Diane Ladd. 114 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Erotic and provocative French drama stars Fanny Ardant as Catherine, a doctor who learns of her husband Bernard's (Gérard Depardieu) infidelity and seeks to learn more about his behavior by hiring Nathalie (Emmanuelle Béart), a prostitute, to seduce him. As Nathalie shares the details of her experiences, the staid physician is drawn into her erotic demimonde. Anne Fontaine directs. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack French Dolby Digital; Subtitles English; theatrical trailers. In French with English subtitles.

For his second feature, Jean Renoir mounted an ambitious and lavish adaptation of the Émile Zola novel, with Catherine Hessling in the title role as the common-born and calculating actress who charms an unfortunate nobleman (Werner Krauss) into bankrolling a starring vehicle for her. However, after the play flops, she begins on a downward path littered with exploited lovers. Jean Angelo, Pierre Lestringuez, Claude Autant-Lara also star. 150 min. Standard; Soundtrack music score; audio commentary; restoration comparison. Silent with music score.
