Girlpool - Powerplant - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Girlpool is a Los Angeles based two piece made up of Cleo Tucker (Guitar) and Harmony Tividad (Bass). Having met at local DIY venue the Smell, the two quickly grew very close. Their sound is raw, comprised only of a guitar, bass and vocal harmonies. The band uses this stripped-down instrumentation to accentuate their vulnerable yet powerful lyrics to create honest pieces, tackling concepts ranging from awareness and respect to the simple of feeling of being alone at a show. Album Tracks 1. Blah Blah Blah 2. Paint Me Colors 3. Love Spell 4. Plants and Worms 5. Jane 6. Slutmouth 7. American Beauty

The music Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad as Girlpool occupies a transient space. Their constant evolution makes it perfectly impossible to articulate exactly where their project falls within the contemporary musical canon; this is one of the many reasons Girlpool's music is so captivating. Album Tracks 1. Lucy's 2. Stale Device 3. Where You Sink 4. Hire 5. Pretty 6. Chemical Freeze 7. All Blacked Out 8. Lucky Joke 9. Minute in Your Mind 10. What Chaos Is Imaginary 11. Hoax and the Shrine 12. Swamp and Bay 13. Josephs Dad 14. Roses

Forgiveness is the brand new full-length Girlpool album, which finds the duo embracing weirdo-pop decadence without sacrificing the poetic curiosity that has always made their music so absorbing. Just like they did for What Chaos Is Imaginary, Harmony and Avery each wrote their Forgiveness songs separately, then came together to decide how to present them in a style that felt representative of what excites and inspires them now. This time, the process resulted in their slickest and most ambitious music to date, filled with idiosyncratic and provocative gestures that simultaneously support and complicate the emotionally intricate material.  With it's unique blend of introspective earworms and surreal party music, Forgiveness reaches beyond the loosely sketched parameters of Inchindie rock,Inch challenging any preconceived notions of what a Girlpool album can or should be. InchFaultlineInch the albums first single, is an effective introduction to the world of Forgiveness; the notion of straddling a fault line feels somewhat indicative of Forgiveness on the whole. These songs investigate the always-shifting boundaries between a number of elementally human concepts pain and pleasure, S*x and love, reality and delusion, insecurity and confidence, grief and growth. To support their vision of a sound at the intersection of Hollywood futurism and post-grunge sincerity, Girlpool enlisted help from producer Yves Rothman (Yves Tumor, Miya Folick). Album Tracks 1. Nothing Gives Me Pleasure 2. Lie Love Lullaby 3. Violet 4. Junkie 5. Dragging My Life Into a Dream 6. Faultline 7. Light Up Later (Feat. Zsela) 8. Country Star 9. Butterfly Bulletholes 10. Afterlife 11. See Me Now 12. Love333
