A: Good news, Charlie! The Google TV Streamer (4K) can turn your regular TV into a smart TV, allowing you to access various streaming services. A Google TV streamer works with most TVs that have an HDMI port. However, there are a few things to consider: > Internet Connection: You'll need a reliable internet connection to stream content. > Cable TV Services: If you rely on specific cable TV channels that aren't available through streaming services, you might still need a cable box for those channels. > Live TV Streaming Services: Some streaming services offer live TV channels, but your local channel availability may vary. > Subscriptions: Each streaming service requires a subscription with its own cost. If you're comparing between a firetv, roku stick, or any of the other hdmi smart tv streaming sticks, look no further than this one. It works amazing, has integration with your google account so any owned movies or tv shows can be played right on the device. The remote works better than a roku remote and can adjust the volume and turn your tv on and off.

Bought this due to needing to replace a firestick. This was a great deal. Being able to link all of my content on the home screen and the ease of use is amazing. Not sure that I am on the new size difference compared to the discontinued ChromeCast. Buy its updated and a little faster then the chromecast.

Google made some good improvements to the previous 4k unit. The 4k streamer is a little faster, the volume control is on the face of the unit and now comes with an Ethernet connection. It’s also easier to hold. I’m use to the previous unit because of the placement of the buttons, but over all I like the new improved unit. Unfortunately the price is double.
