Q: Will this work for the GoPro 4?
A: We had no problems with it on ours at the ocean! Pictures were crystal clear and that was even with a toddler running around with the camera.
Q: is this also used for hero 5? or is it not needed?

A: I put mine under the camera at the bottom of the case. You can slide them in on the sides as well as long as you don't block a button.
