Love this camera. Works well in all applications. I mainly use it on my motorcycle. Highly recommend.

It does extend the battery life of the GoPro and the stock battery, but definitely at a cost to size and weight.

Extends the recording time by about a little over an hour, albeit not by double like I thought it would. Also adds bulk to the camera. It does come with a plethora of back door cases and a extender arm and charging cable. The back door cases will NOT work on HERO 3 cameras. Only HERO 3+. Not sure about HERO 4 though since I don't have one. Probably better off changing batteries if you can unless you are on the water then it makes sense.

For when you are on the go and forget to charge your main power pack this little device will give you some extreme juice. It is a must have for pilots and scuba divers or any adventurer that dosnt want to carry around a lot of little battery's. the only down side with my GoPro 4 silver is it blocks the touch screen. The easy fix is to use the capture app or set up the shot before hand. With my strap or even the handler it works great but with the extra size you have on the back of the camera it does tend to block some angles when trying to set up. Make sure you have extensions for all mounts that pivot on the go. If not play with it at home and learn where the best angle you need with the backpack on

When I started shooting videos at 4K the battery didn't last really long and this battery BacPac does give a lot of juice extending the recording time by almost 2x. This also comes with the water proof housing.

Extends the recording time 2 times longer, Great for extended filming. I primarily use my go pro for recording driving events the battery pack allows me to record half a track day @ 720P 60FPS.

Nothing really beats the battery bacpac when it comes to add ons. It's hands down my go to add-on. Even though I bought the LCD bacpac as well I rarely see my self reaching for it. I tend to set up my camera for still/stationary recordings so the Lcd bacpac would only get used for two min tops. I rather use the battery bacpac for more uninterrupted run time and simply use the mobile app to line up my shot. Let's be honest if your going to use this as a action camera your going to be paying attention to what your doing and not the screen. Do yourself a favor and get the battery bacpac and enjoy double the run time.

After purchasing my first GoPro camera I was quick to be dissappointed in the battery life when recording in 1080 or higher. I purchased additional batteries that fit inside camera but turned out not to be practical to change batteries while performing on stage. GoPro gave reviews that made the battery backpack not seem like it would make a large difference but I tried it and was super happy with results. I can now record a full show without needing to replace batteries. A must for anyone recording in high resolution.

I do a lot of time lapse work with GoPro cameras and the battery backpack is an absolute necessity for the longer time lapses. Especially considering the standard GoPro battery doesn't have the longest life in my experience. By the time you set up the shot via the WiFi app or the LCD monitor back, half of the standard battery is already used. Any serious GoPro camera operator should have a battery backpack in his/her kit.

I have read reviews and I have been skeptical about the item but there is no denying that it more than doubles your battery life. There were some reviews saying that it over heats but I have found that not to be true either. At least not from my experiences. Other said that you couldn't charge your GoPro while the BacPack was connected.....that is also a false statement. There is a battery gauge on the BacPack itself for you to check the battery life. This is one of those must have accessories. Disclaimer: I have a Hero4 Black.

This extended my recording time about an hour. Makes the camera a little more bulky but weighs next to nothing.

I bought this while on vacation as I was doing time lapses of flights and other things that were just draining my battery. Initially I had the screen bacpac because it was easier to use than the front LCD for settings. However, the lack of battery life while using the screen outweighed the positives. This stays on my GoPro all the time. The added battery life is great and is a breeze to charge without having to take it out. If you're doing long time lapses or video recordings, this is a must have.

Easy Installation and great battery life. Would recommend this to anybody.

The GoPro BacPac battery is an extra battery to extend the time you are able to use your GoPro camera before you have to recharge the battery. The really cool thing about the BacPac battery is it actually fits right on top of the other battery just extending the use time. It's like having one battery but it's two. When you need extra battery life it's the way to go.

Recommended if you need to record longer, but the camera may overheat more often especially if you are recording hour long clips

It adds extra life, but you can tell when it's good and when it's bad. Good batteries give you extra time. That's given. The bad pacs drain both GoPro internal and external batteries very quickly. That's when you know to throw it away and get another one. But, these work great. Gives me an extra couple of hours of video.

Great way to get 4 hours plus solid run time, and works with GoPro accessories perfectly. Each of my GP 3+ Black editions run the battery BacPacs now, and usually I get an entire afternoon of footage without changing batteries. Once you use these, you don't want to just run on regular battery alone!!!

I always complain that the battery life on the GoPro is too short. This definitely solves the problem. I recorded a timelapse taking an image every 0.5 sec. Normally, the GoPro battery would run out after about 2 hours. With the battery pack, it was going strong after 4 hours. Well worth it.

Extended battery works very well. I bought two for my trip. The recording time was doubled from the standard battery with fast recharge. The new extended battery would not fit with the current back cover; one simple phone call to GoPro customer service and solved my problem. Very satisfy...
