I am absolutely in love with this Go Pro, I’m so used to taking my DSLR around. However, I love to kayak! So it’s a little scary to bring a camera that size and worth so much into a creek or any body of water for that matter! Luckily, this Go Pro eliminates all those fears! I’ve used this for recording behind the goal shots of soccer games, kayaking in my favorite waters on the east coast and even gone biking with it. All accessories are available to purchase all while still being affordable. To navigate it, takes maybe a day, but once you learn the widgets and stuff you’ll be fine!

Works well. Good quality photos and easy app to use for quick wireless export to phone and quick edits. Would recommend. See photos from recent snorkeling trip.

Love this thing! I like when it's on my head and I hit the record button when it's turned off, it starts recording and when I hit it again it turns off. They should tell you to format the cards, once I did that, no issues. Returned 2 cameras because of that issue.

Great camera takes great videos and pictures. All the extra accessories they have for the Hero8 are great too they really come in handy.

Do not buy this GoPro. Have had it for almost 3 months and it’s not worth it at all. It constantly overheats, corrupts the files, freezes, turns off by itself and stays on a loading loop forever. Very disappointing to have beautiful footage after one day of riding a bike to see all the footage lost and the camera doesn’t connect to the app any longer. Also battery life is horrendous, horrible the worst battery in electronics that I ever used. Just turning on the camera and leaving it on for 5 minutes drains about 10% of the battery not to mention how hot it gets. Piece of crap do not buy GoPro Hero8 Black. Can’t even reset this crap without freezing.

These great little action cameras. They're light relative to their newer versions, and I think are the first to have variable hyper smooth. I grabbed on in 'open box' condition (i.e. flawless) and it's eligible for accident protection. Hope there are still some in the future.

Was able to get this from Best Buy for an amazing holiday price. Works as expected for a GoPro. Mostly just excited about the deal I got.

This has been a great camera for capturing those pompano’s coming from the surf and of course them stingrays. Very happy with this newer model. The LCD on the back was a must.

Do not buy a Hero 8 if you need a camera that works. The first one lasted 2 minutes before the dreaded red light on the front and no other camera function. Exchanged it for a new one and it had issues connecting. Finally got it connected and it worked the only 2 or 3 times I used it. Go to use it today and it's the dreaded red light again. Will not turn on. Fighting with GoPro now trying to get the problem resolved. This was my first and last GoPro product. Spent almost $600 for camera and accessories. Big waste of money.

Lense isn’t detachable, scratched it and now I have to send it back

Total garbage. The camera locks up with a steady red light. Have tried all the procedures for a reset. Confirmed all charging cables and adapters are the correct size. Seems to be a common issue with these. Don’t waste your money. I have a useless brick on my vacation.

For what I need it does more than enough. Stays mounted either on a motorcycle or being used in a music studio

[Employee of bestbuy] The Gopro Hero 8 is an excellent gopro for anyone who wants a budget friendly choice. While lacking some higher end things like a full color front screen and a nicer camera, you still get a big suite of options with the camera onboard and things like hypersmooth and slomo. The only downside really is I wish the battery could last a little longer. I personally recommend this for anyone who is looking into getting an action cam for the first time.
