In a message published with the of this new single, Gordon expresses confidence in the Australian government to help asylum seekers by granting their residency. We hope his message will be heard. / Finally, Gordon's two latest offerings are backed on the B-side by 'South Sudan', an 8-minute epic that demonstrates Gordon's joy at playing with his new band. It's an incredibly upbeat song in the style of Gordon's homeland and sung in his native Neur language. The messages contained within the track are classic Koang style, encouraging peace amongst his people and asking them to remember how to live, laugh and love. / This work was recorded in early 2019 at the Music in Exile studio, a cramped room behind a piano shop in Melbourne, Australia. ![Modern Nature - No Fixed Point In Space - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/d7f67d58-5b5e-4a6b-b5b3-2a500f877cee.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
No Fixed Point In Space, the third full-length album by Jack Cooper's Modern Nature, takes the palette of sound and themes that were honed on 2021's Island Of Noise and launches them into an expansive world of openness and vivid technicolour. It's a music that hasn't been heard before; as melodic as anything Cooper has produced but framed by rhythms and instrumentation that reflect the chaos, unpredictability and colour of the natural world. InchWith this record,Inch Cooper explains, InchI wanted the music to reflect nature beginnings and endings, arrivals and departures, process and chance. I wanted the music and the words to feel like roots, branches, mycelium, the intricacies of a dawn chorus, neurons firing, the unknown. The way you see or hear music in your head is abstract and magic... often more beautiful than what eventually appears on tape. When you sit down with an instrument and begin translating an idea, it quickly conforms. I've tried to develop this music without thinking in terms of set rhythms, time signatures, folk or pop structures, syntax; the devices you associate with the music world which I come from. I wanted to make music that was abstract, free and honest, whilst still being predominantly tonal and recognisably song based. It feels like time to make something that no one has heard before.Inch

This new EP, Coronavirus / Disco, is the latest offering from South Sudan's King of Music, Gordon Koang. The first single, Coronavirus, was penned by Koang in July 2020 as a response to his personal experiences of the global pandemic. As his hometown of Melbourne went into lockdown, Gordon resided in the outer suburbs of Melbourne with his cousin, Paul, and his four-stringed, guitar-like instrument, the thom. Throughout this single, Gordon offers his condolences to those affected by the pandemic, alongside messages of his faith in frontline workers and the hope that circumstances will improve soon. InchPeople suffer a lot. I ask that God gives the doctors the big wisdom to defeat the coronavirus. When people hear my song, I hope that this music counsels them. The song has a lot of meaning, it is telling them to be hopeful.Inch With the cancellation of a national tour and numerous festival appearances, Covid-19 had not only impacted Gordon's career here in Australia but also his opportunity to visit family he hadn't seen in five years. After receiving Australian permanent residency, Gordon and Paul were now able to visit family in Uganda, however this was made incredibly difficult due to border closures and the potential health risks. Taking a last minute opportunity, Gordon and Paul travelled to Africa and whilst excited to visit their families, they also experienced the impact of the pandemic on their home communities. InchIn Africa, it is not like us here, there is no medicine and in Africa there is also no Centrelink if you are in lockdown. It is difficult getting services. Even getting food is difficult.InchAfter two weeks in hotel quarantine, Gordon and Paul returned to Melbourne, eager to record music once more. With lockdown lifting, Gordon headed to the studio with a new band featuring Zak Olsen (ORB, Traffik Island) Jack Kong (Baked Beans, Traffik Island), Da
