Professionally known as Grandmaster Slice, Stacey Rogers got into the rap game as a kid pop-locking in a local dance crew in Southern Virginia called Ebony Express & deejaying basement parties throughout his teen years alongside his cousin DJ Adam T. Slice later hooked up with a former schoolmate, Izzy Chill, and in 1989 the duo produced a dance record titled InchShall We Dance (Electric Slide),Inch for the indie Creative Funk tag. The song became a hit on the rap charts, and they soon released an album by the same title. In 1991, Slice released the 5 track single InchThinking Of You & Turn Up The MusicInch featuring vocalist Marianne Tutalo (sometimes known as Marlenne Tutalo) on InchThinking Of You,Inch and vocalist Cheryl Clark is featured on InchTurn Up The MusicInch with additional production from Scratchmaster Chuck T, once again originally released on the Creative Funk imprint.
