Greenworks - 80 Volt 4.0Ah Power Tool Battery

I bought this as a second battery for my Greenworks 80V mower because I needed it as soon as possible, and to my surprise, out of all the local stores, it was carried by Best Buy. For that purpose, it was exactly what I needed. It fits correctly, charges properly, and gives me enough extra runtime to finish my yard without being stuck waiting on one battery. My yard has a lot of hills, so the mower works harder than it would on flat grass. Having a second 4.0Ah battery makes the setup much more practical. I can mow with one battery while the other charges, which is the main reason I bought it. The battery itself gets 5 stars from me because it works and was available when I needed it. The only downside is value. If I did not need it immediately, I probably would have bought online because there are usually more battery and charger options, and sometimes better bundles. But as an store purchase for someone already using the Greenworks 80V system, this battery did exactly what I needed. If you have not read around, the time it run varies, so there is no solid number of minutes. Things like hills (slopes), using the self propelled feature (I dont use at all as, like a gas mower, it eats up gas too), waiting until the grass is tall + thick (will increase mower RPMs). But if you had to ask, on a flat area, I'd say it'll run at least 30 minutes (no self propelled use) on grass that looks like its maintained. As far as charge time, I never timed it, but by the time I'm done using up the one on the mower, I'll have all bars on the one on the charger. Regrets? Not really, it was this or the Milwaukee mower system, until I saw its price tag. Now the Greenworks Electric Pressure Washer (3000PSI) that I also picked up at Best Buy has a friend in the garage. Note, at the time of purchase (mid 2025), it is not the same exact model as the battery the mower came with, but works just fine.

Purchased this battery on sale because I needed any extra one for my Greenworks lawn combo. I ordered it from BB and had it delivered with no problems. I charged it, used it and it has been working great! You may pay a little more for name brand but it is worth it in the long run.

Grateful for this. It out lasted me while snow plowing and charges quickly.

The first thing I had to learn about the Greenworks 80 Volt (V) 2.0AH (Amp Hours) was what Volt and Amp Hours were - Volts is how much juice the battery can push out into the device, and Amp Hours is how long it can push that juice from fully charged to charge again. Greenworks batteries range from 2.0 AH to 8.0 AH. depending on how much power is needed for the tool type. Some products take multiple batteries, while others take only one. and small products need less AH than the bigger ones like lawnmowers. Be sure to look at the product specs to determine which battery is needed for each product so you can get the right battery for each device. This product when compared to other models is physically ligher but offers a shorter run time. It recharges quickly, in about 30 minute. It shares the same formeatures as the Greenworks - 80 Volt 4.0 AH Battery and can be charged in the same dock. I appreciated the rubber grips on the upper/ lower on the top and bottom of the outside edge of the battery to make it easier to grip when putting in and pulling out of tools. I appreciated the way the batteries can be swapped on the go with little or no downtime between. It is easy to grip and slip out of the charging dock as well, which can sit on the table or be mounted to the wall for up and out of the way use. The the battery charge indicater LED display is user-facing, and operated by the push of a button. No need to take off gloves or stop to check. You'll know in just a moment how much juice is left and when I'm in the groove, I like that there's no guesswork. One simple button tells me if I'm ready to go for the next job, or if the battery needs a top off. I would recommend picking up an additional charging dock and an additional battery or two if the products you have don't come with enough to have one charging while one is being used.
