About this product
Named for the band's third lease on life, Third Wind finds Gulfer at a unique moment in their ten-plus year career. When they started in 2011, Gulfer played scrappy, complex math rock influenced by the emo revival. But in 2024 they've emerged almost unrecognizable, while still retaining the spirit of what made them all fall in love with Gulfer in the first place.Third Wind's stylistic turns are emphasized by deeper texture and simpler songwriting, influenced by the reemergence of 90s alternative and shoegaze. With a new emphasis on atmosphere and more straightforward composition, Gulfer give themselves space to explore audaciously. Album opener InchCleanInch gets as close to pop as the band has ever been, where InchNo BrainerInch dabbles deftly in downer rock that asks Inchwhat even is my fucking place in the world?InchBold juxtapositions feature elsewhere on Third Wind pop-punk bruiser InchToo SlowInch stops on a dime before evolving into a slow burning drum n bass passage, all within two minutes. And then there's InchHeartshapeInch, a downright love song shrouded in virtuosic performance and electric-acoustic counterpoint. Although these contrasts could be construed as aimless fiddling, their seamlessness is the true essence of Third Wind, indicative of a sage band with a renewed love for what they do.

Thomas' crisp and logical solos, technical alacrity and witty compositions have been a dependable pleasure - Paul de Barros, Seattle Times. Coming from a rich career as a jazz vibraphonist and composer, Ben Thomas found himself enthralled by the sounds and history of tango music, first as a dancer and then as an avid student of the bandoneon. Through his fifteen-year journey, Thomas took trips to Buenos Aires to hear & study with the masters, eventually finding his own voice in the music and performing widely. With InchEternal Aporia,Inch Thomas presents the debut recording of his Tango trio with clarinetist Eric Likkel and bassist Steve Schermer, exploring tango through it's encounters with new times and new influences. Following the lead of some of the leaders of the current scene in Buenos Aires, such as Diego Schissi and Exequiel Mantega, Thomas builds his intricate pieces combining rhythmic intensity with rich harmonies, whimsy, and an emphasis on story telling. InchBen is a great composer, and an energetic performer who knows how deep music can go.Inch - Jovino Santos Neto
Welcome to the demented world of Oranssi Pazuzu where black metal, electronics and noise meet to realize the weird concept of making nightmarish Rave music. Album opener 'Bioalkemisti' messes with your brain yet sports a vicious, unhinged groove that makes you think of 90's trip hop colliding with raspy vocals and the creative genius of mad men.
